IFI AUDIO AC iPurifier Active mains filter with phase and ground detection

Mains power is the essence, the source that powers an audio system. And, whether clean or polluted, it has a major impact on the quality of all Hi-Definition Hifi systems.

The iPurifier AC is the latest iFi Audio processor. Technologically advanced, it is an active and non-passive processing device, which goes beyond traditional sector filters and removes far more noise and distortion over a wider frequency range than other existing fixed-frequency band devices.

This graph compares the AC iPurifier (green line), which is ON, with generic sector filters (red line) which are generally passive.

The effective noise reduction difference is also different between night and day.
The graph shows that the AC Purifier offers a constant noise reduction over a wide frequency range where a conventional passive filter is only effective in high frequencies.

The iPurifier AC is designed to accurately process any AC powered audio system. It is particularly effective in processing modern audio systems that have an abundance of generic, linear and varied switch-mode power supplies.

Wireless purification System


The Wireless Purification System (WPS) is a complex circuit that reduces power line noise without any audible or measured side effects. This is important because such solutions, while trying to reduce noise, also hinder dynamics. This is not the case with the iPurifier AC which keeps all the essence of every inflection that make music.


Modular Design supress Noise

In many modern audio systems, there is usually a plethora of power outlets one after the other, cascading their own unwanted noise additions and polluting the final power supply to the speakers.
The design of the iPurifier AC is such that it is even more effective if several are used judiciously to "contain" the problem at the source.

You can insert it into the AC wall outlet that powers the audio system or insert it into the audio system's power extension block. Try both places to find out which ones have the greatest impact on improved sounds.

Earth intelligence system


There are a small number of AC cleaning devices that add an additional ground/mass, but only the iPurifier AC has an "intelligent ground". You can purchase the optional additional 4mm grounding cable as an option to give the audio system the best possible ground/ground quality. (if it detects the absence of ground, it will not create a ground loop). The connector is standard 4mm banana plug.


Intelligent Polarity automatically informs you of the incorrect orientation of the mains phase by switching to a red LED. The second mistake is the absence of Earth. In a system where there may or may not be a lack of earth, simply insert the iPurifier AC into the system and it will tell you one way or the other. When both LEDs (below) turn green, everything is in order!

Automatic Surge protection


Last but not least, in the rare cases where there is an overvoltage spike (caused by a power surge or lightning strike for example), the iPurifier AC will automatically turn off and shut off the electricity to pass through your system. This should protect your valuable and highly sensitive mains equipment from overvoltages.
