Battery powered ultra low noise power supply 5V 2A DC
Quloos PS1 is a 5V DC 2A battery power supply controlled by an on-board micro-controller. The device is based on a pair of RC Lipo accumulators in order to provide the cleanest possible power supply and to obtain an audio signal absolutely free from any disturbance related to the power grid.
It uses no less than 6 LT3045 low noise regulators with high stability, ideal for powering a very advanced high fidelity device requiring the quietest possible power supply in order to deliver the full extent of its audio qualities.
In order to accommodate ideally most of your audio devices, the PS1 uses 4S75C power cells (1800 mAh total) with output electrical capacities that can reach above 100A. The main reason for this oversized performance is a desire to lower the ESR (internal circuit resistance) to achieve a better transient response - which also allows higher output currents and allows the PS1 to operate with a wide range of 'audio devices while providing a power supply as quiet as a series supercapacitor circuit.
The circuit has no less than 6 LT3045 low noise regulators, which promotes high reactivity of the circuit even with energy-hungry systems, while keeping the noise level below 1µv (theoretical 0.33µv).
Thanks to a circuit equipped with electrolytic capacitors as well as V-cap CuTF capacitors (fluoropolymer copper foil), the compensation of the high and low bands is done passively while ensuring a homogeneous and constant signal over the entire response range.
This type of component in a circuit with low internal resistance, contributes to a fast response from the power supply which offers the instantaneous power reserve necessary for the reconstitution of a clear and precise dynamics.
The circuit is galvanically isolated from AC input at any point in the circuit. The two battery units integrated in the device take turns for charging and discharging. In other words: the discharging battery is never in contact with the main electrical circuit during its entire cycle and the electrical network is never exposed to the audio circuit.
The noise level caused by the power supply is therefore continuously low and extremely robust against occasional and unwanted variations in the power grid current.
