Stainless steel earphones and silver-plated copper cable

Robust and elegant, the FD5 body is made of stainless steel. The use of this material also allows a reduction of the harmonic distortion inside the earphones. The back of each ear is dressed in a beautiful chrome finish, completing the modern aesthetic of this model.

The cylindrical shape of the FD5 is also part of the acoustic optimization of these headphones, effectively reducing internal resonances to maintain the overall detail of the audio message.

The detachable cable is composed of 8 conductors of 19 wires each. These are made of silver-plated monocrystalline copper, ensuring excellent conductivity and fidelity of your music and harmonics. This cable has MMCX connectors on the headphone side. At the other end, it features an interchangeable mini-jack connector, with 2.5mm, 3.5mm and 4.4mm connectors provided.

Dynamic transducers with beryllium membrane

Each FiiO FD5 earphone incorporates a 15mm diameter beryllium-plated DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) dynamic driver. This design was specifically selected for its lightness, its thinness as well as for its great rigidity. This design provides deep bass, rich midrange and high frequency extension. The FD5 is able to provide an optimal response to signal fluctuations to reduce distortion and promote precision. In addition, the N52 bi-directional magnetic technology developed by the brand allows to improve the acoustic pressure of the bass for deeper and more impactful bass by developing a magnetic field of an intensity close to 1.5 Tesla.

Semi-open design & Acoustic Prism

The FD5 have a semi-open design, using a technology named "Volcanic Field" by FiiO. This one allows to evacuate the stagnant sound waves behind the transducer in order to reduce the distortion, to improve the diffusion of the bass and to favor a great listening comfort.

Moreover, in order to adapt to all morphologies, the FD5 are equipped with interchangeable acoustic tubes and delivered with numerous earpieces to guarantee an optimal comfort. FiiO, in order to eliminate the worries linked to the shift of the different sound waves, uses in its FD5 an acoustic prism structure inspired by high-end HiFi. Thus, a conical piece installed near the front of the transducer allows to keep a control on the way the waves are diffused and thus to eliminate the sound losses.
