Moondrop Meteor In-Ear Monitors IEM Dynamic Balanced Armature Planar Magnetic 18.5 Ohm 120dB 9Hz-35kHz
With the Meteor, Moondrop presents earphones incorporating a substantial number of drivers and new technologies to deliver the most striking final sound possible. No less than six drivers with different technologies are used and harmonized thanks to an advanced crossover architecture to cover a wide frequency range as effectively as possible, while scrupulously respecting the VDSF 5128 model.
Moondrop Meteor: 13mm dynamic driver
Meteor's unique multi-frequency crossover design allows innovative placement of the 13mm dynamic driver dedicated to low frequencies.
This driver, equipped with an N52 neodymium magnet and composite dome diaphragm, offers a very wide dynamic range and considerably reduced distortion compared to more conventional balanced armature and smaller dynamic driver arrangements.
Furthermore, the meteorite back panel of the earphones functions as the driver's rear cavity and acts as a vibration absorber, improving the quality of the audio reproduction as well as being an attractive aesthetic touch.
Moondrop Meteor: 4 planar magnetic drivers
For high-frequency reproduction, the Meteor adopts 4 planar magnetic drivers per ear. Although their manufacturing precision is similar to that of their balanced armature equivalents, these miniature planar magnetic drivers avoid the problems of narrow bandwidth and high harmonic distortion usually caused by balanced armature drive pins in these frequency bands.
Moondrop Meteor: 2 balanced armature drivers
Finally, the midrange is entrusted to two balanced armature drivers specially chosen for their impressive dynamics and their ability to match the targeted frequency response. Coupled with the specially developed acoustic nozzle and crossover circuit, the result is a sound reproduction with a natural timbre, an open soundstage and extended bass and treble.
Moondrop Meteor: Controlled frequency response
The Meteor features a notch filter created by combining the properties of the rear panel's metal components with the driver's 3D-printed cavity and acoustic nozzle. This configuration effectively eliminates the resonances produced by the dynamic driver at 4.7kHz and 7.2kHz, resulting in a smoother, more natural sound. All this technical expertise enables Moondrop to offer a frequency response very close to the VDSF 5128 model.
Moondrop Meteor: Silver-plated copper cable
The Meteor comes with a silver-plated copper litz wire cable, ensuring optimum signal transmission. The cable supplied has a detachable termination, so you can choose between 4.4mm and 3.5mm jack connectors.
