With the U2 earphones, Moondrop continues the tradition of quality design and manufacture that has made the brand so successful. With a 14.8mm dynamic driver with a paper diaphragm and a resonance tube inspired by the first acoustic tubes, these earphones offer high-quality sound reproduction coupled with excellent wearing comfort at a very affordable price.
Moondrop U2 : Paper diaphragm
Moondrop's U2 earphones feature a composite diaphragm with a flexible polyester suspension. The cone-dome structure of the U2 is made from compressed cellulose pulp, the same material used in professional drivers because of its high rigidity and internal strength. What's more, these earphones adopt the same ‘suspension-cone-dome’ diaphragm structure as our full-range drivers. Combined with a flexible polyester suspension, this structure gives a much better and more balanced frequency response than ordinary earphones, resulting in fine detail and a smooth, natural timbre.
Moondrop U2 : 14.8mm dynamic driver
Equipped with an N52 magnetic circuit and a lightweight CCAW voice coil, the 14.8mm-diameter dynamic driver fitted to the U2 earphones combines comfort of use with admirable performance. The pairing of the U2's efficient design and this driver delivers punchy bass, low distortion, wide dynamic range and fast treble response.
Moondrop U2 : A custom-made acoustic tube
The U2 earphones feature a U-shaped acoustic tube, a tribute to the pioneers of acoustic design. The structure has been optimised and improved using modern manufacturing technologies, optimising the resonance effect of the brass tube at low frequencies. As a result, this true resonance chamber offers a unique timbre while attenuating the pressure of the bass, allowing you to enjoy it without having to absorb any of it first.
