TRUTHEAR X CRINACLE ZERO:RED In-Ear Monitor

With the Zero RED, Truthear has once again teamed up with Crinacle, renowned for its expertise in IEM, to offer a new version of the fruit of their previous collaboration. These in-ear monitors retain the dynamic dual-driver structure of their predecessors, but improve on it to offer an even lower level of distortion. Furthermore, the frequency response curve is also slightly different, offering punchier bass while preserving the characteristic neutrality of the previous model.

Truthear Zero RED: An updated sound profile

Building on the Zero's excellent measurements, the RED version further optimizes the latter to reduce non-linear distortion at a higher sound pressure level of 94dB. The frequency response target curve is similar to that of its predecessors, but adopts the CRINACLE IEF_Neutral target curve for the frequency band above 1000Hz, offering a rendering that conforms to HRTF characteristics while being warm and natural.

Furthermore, the Zero REDs are relatively neutral to the ear, and special care has been taken to avoid phase distortion, a recurrent problem in earphones with multiple drivers and responsible for unnatural sound reproduction.

"Folks, we have another reference class IEM for hardly any money. Yes, there is a bit different tuning but whether that is better or not, is hard to determine given the uncertainty in measurements, and listening preference at granular level. I am happy with either but like the lower distortion in RED. I could not reduce distortion the original Zero. So the RED gets my vote as to the better of the two by small margin.
