3E Audio A5Class D Stereo Amplifier PBTL 2xTPA3251 2x150W 4 ohm
3E Audio, a recognized player in the DIY world, now offers a Class D Stereo amplifier incorporating audiophile Hi-Fi components. The A5 amplifier is based on two TI TPA3251 chips in PBTL configuration, and two dual OPA1656 OPAs. This means it can deliver up to 2x150W into 4 ohm.
In terms of connectors, the 3E Audio A5 features an RCA input, a practical balanced XLR/Jack 6.35mm combo input, and an output on speaker terminals. The RCA input gain can be adjusted (LOW=23dB, HIGH=26dB), and the preamplifier stage and volume control can be bypassed for use as a power amplifier. Versatile and high-performance, this little amplifier is able to offer a good reserve of power while preserving the final sound reproduction.

3E Audio A5: Two TPA3251 chips
The two TPA3251 amplifier chips offer a consistent level of output power, as the 3E Audio A5 delivers up to 2x150W into 4 ohm and up to 2x80W into 8 ohm (THD+N = 1%). In addition, the PBTL configuration maintains continuous, stable output power while reducing power losses. It also enables the amplifier to withstand loads of up to 2 ohms.
3E Audio A5: Interchangeable OPAs
The preamplifier stage of the 3E Audio A5 is made up of two double OPA1656 OPAs mounted in DIP 8 and easily replaceable with pliers, thanks to the design of the case. In fact, the OPAs can be accessed through two hatches without opening the case. Here's a non-exhaustive list of compatible OPAs: OPA1656, OPA1602, OPA2134, NE5532P, LME49720, LM4562, MUSES02, MUSES8920, NJM4580, NJM4556, NJM2068, OP249, AD827, etc.
Please take care not to damage the device or the OPAs when replacing or handling them. Any damage to the device caused by improper handling by the user (reverse mounting of OPAs, mounting of non-compatible OPAs, etc.) will invalidate the product warranty. Please refer to the manual to carry out the operation.

" The A5 amplifier is very well thought out small amplifier with excellent feature set and performance to back it. I love features such as clipping indicator to tell you whether you are exhausting all of its power. Measurements show one of the most implementations of this architecture with no weak point other than perhaps, high frequencies. All of this for a reasonable price. I am happy to recommend the 3e-audio A5 stereo amplifier. "
