Audiophonics is proud to present the HPAI-S450ET. This Class D integrated amplifier relies on a pair of Purifi 1ET6525SA amplifier modules coupled with a Hypex SMPS1200A400 power supply to deliver incredible performance. Like all Audiophonics Workshop products, this HPAI-S450ET is meticulously designed and hand-assembled in our workshop in France.
The Audiophonics HPAI-S450ET is a powerful, robust and high-performance amplification solution. It is capable of powering demanding HiFi audio systems, while revealing sound reproduction of incomparable finesse, rich in detail and perfectly transparent. There's no compromise here between power and sound accuracy. The on-board Purifi modules feature a particularly rigorous design, delivering exceptional measured performance.
All elements and components are integrated into a solid, sturdy aluminum housing with a sleek, modern design. This chassis also features openings and heat sinks on the sides to dissipate heat efficiently. What's more, its design effectively limits the impact of interference on the audio signal.
Each channel of the Audiophonics HPAI-S450ET amplifier circuit is equipped with its own Purifi 1ET6525SA amplifier module. These use high-performance Class D architecture, with available power of 2x450W into 4Ω or 2x230W into 8Ω (at 1% THD) and high efficiency of over 94%. They also guarantee a very low level of THD, intermodulation distortion and noise, for a rich, precise and perfectly transparent sound reproduction, perfectly respecting the original audio signal to reproduce your music with unequalled fidelity and without coloration. It also guarantees a wide, realistic sound image, for perfect immersion.
Purifi's ongoing research into non-linear control theory has led to the development of the first mathematically accurate large-signal model for self-oscillating amplifier controllers. This breakthrough enables the feedback circuit to be fully optimized, resulting in a significant performance improvement over other designs. Furthermore, these Purifi 1ET6525SA modules feature a complete protection system for enhanced durability.
The power supply stage of the Audiophonics HPAI-S450ET uses an ultra-high-efficiency Hypex SMPS1200A400 switch-mode power supply module, capable of developing 1200W of power. This has been specifically designed and developed by Hypex to provide the voltage required for optimal operation of the amplifier modules.
This high-quality, low-noise power supply perfectly meets the energy requirements of the Purifi 1ET6525SA amplifier modules. Furthermore, the amplifier modules themselves have an excellent ability to reject power supply noise. As a result, the HPAI-S450ET is highly insensitive to power grid imperfections and voltage/current variations that can cause parasitic noise.
Line input 4 (AMP-IN) bypasses the preamplifier stage completely. When active, no compensation or attenuation is applied to the audio signal before it is sent to the amplifier. This means that the source used with line input 4 must have its own volume control. This input has been designed for use as a power amplifier. It allows you to control the volume from an external preamplifier (such as an AV receiver). So, for example, you can use the HPAI-S450ET as part of a home theater and HiFi setup.
Never use Line4 input without first connecting it to a source with volume control. Otherwise, the fully amplified signal could damage your speakers.
The two amplifier modules are driven in phase opposition to cancel the Power Supply Pumping effect. This allows for greater power supply stability, alternately distributing current calls on each rail and thus increasing its capacity. A voltage regulation stage is used to optimize the power supply to the OPAs and the auxiliary voltage supplied to the modules. One Audiophonics OPA1656 OPA is used per channel. These are very low-distortion OPAs, offering the highest transparency with very low THD. They are mounted on a socket so they can be replaced if necessary.
In addition, a gain control is located on the underside of the unit to suit all applications. Four gain settings are available: 12.5dB, 20dB (default), 25dB and 29dB.
The Audiophonics HPAI-S450ET's integrated volume control features a high-quality MUSES72320 chip. This stereo electronic volume controller offers excellent performance with very low noise and distortion levels, thanks in particular to its resistor ladder circuit.
Housed in a robust aluminum case, components are perfectly protected. Optimum heat dissipation is ensured by a series of apertures on the cover and rear panel, allowing air to circulate freely. The front of the HPAI-S450ET features a magnificent black acrylic panel, a modern and elegant aesthetic touch. Behind this panel is a beautiful display, showing volume level, active input and type of signal received by the device. It also lets you navigate menus and access all HPAI-S450ET options.
