SMSL's PA40 is an integrated amplifier based on Infineon's MA5332MS Class D amplifier chip, delivering 2x160W of power at 4Ω with a harmonic distortion of just 0.004%, for crystal-clear sound reproduction with low power consumption and very little heat generation. Furthermore, SMSL has selected a NJU7391 volume control chip with very low distortion, giving you control over volume attenuation without coloring the final sound rendering.
SMSL PA40: MA5332MS amplification chip
The PA40's amplifier stage is based on an Infineon MA5332MS chip. This chip provides 2x160W of Class D amplification at 4Ω. This Class D amplifier has all the qualities of this technology, with extremely limited heat generation and an impressive efficiency of 95%.
SMSL PA40: NJU7391 volume control chip
The PA40 is equipped with an NJU7391 volume control chip developed by Nisshinbo Micro Devices, enabling control of volume attenuation via a very low noise and distortion ladder resistance circuit, ensuring transparent volume control to the ear.

The PA40 relies on numerous audiophile-quality components to guarantee optimum listening quality. Furthermore, SMSL has integrated protections against overload, overheating and undervoltage, ensuring the unit's longevity over time.
