AK4137EQ Module
Module AK4137EQ 24bit 192kHz SPDIF I2S
This scalable module is based on an AKM AK4137EQ conversion chip. It will allow you to design a powerful interface at low cost, especially since it is accompanied by its LCD screen and its control button.
With an optical input and an I2S output as standard, you can upgrade the module according to your needs by granting new inputs. It is thus possible to add a Coaxial, AES or BNC connector (not supplied) and even an XMOS USB interface, allowing to increase even more the performances of this module by allowing it to support higher sampling rates.
High quality conversion chip
Equipped with an AKM AK4137EQ chip supporting files up to 32bit 768kHz and native DSD256, this module takes advantage of the excellent Velvet Sound architecture. This allows the development of sound details that are usually too recessed to be audible while limiting distortion. In addition, the chip incorporates an internal oscillator, which considerably reduces jitter. This chip ensures a dynamic range of 186dB and a THD+N of -150dB. An excellent choice for high quality listening.
Double SCTF clock
The module also integrates other components involved in its high quality sound reproduction. The presence of 2 SCTF clocks is particularly noteworthy. A 22.5792MHz clock and a 24.576MHz clock. This drastically reduces jitter and improves audio signal synchronization.
Simple but effective control
The module is delivered with an LCD screen and a module with a single button, as well as cables to connect them together. The screen will allow you to view the current activity of your DAC as the active source, file format or sampling rate of it. You can also find the active filter, the output signal format and the output sampling rate.
To act on these parameters, nothing could be simpler. The single button allows to change both source but also filter and signal format and output sampling rate. Below you will find instructions for using the screen and button.

Button functions :
- Short press : Change input (N°1)
- Long press > 0.5s : Option menu.
- The active filter name flashes. Press briefly to change. Press and hold to move to the next parameter.
- The name of the output signal format flashes. Press briefly to change. Press and hold to move to the next parameter.
- The output sampling rate flashes. Press briefly to change it. Press and hold or do not press the button for a moment to exit Options mode.
Very high definition accessible with an XMOS USB interface
(Vendue séparément).
This module provides a slot to add a USB XMOS U208 module. By adding this USB interface, you can enjoy a more powerful input since it supports higher sampling rates. Indeed, by adding this interface and using its USB-B port, you can read your 32bit 384kHz PCM and DSD256 files.
Velvet Sound
The AKM AK4137EQ benefits from Velvet Sound technology. This allows on this DAC to have 4 PCM filters: Sharp roll-off, slow roll-off, short delay sharp roll-off and short delay slow roll-off. These filters will allow you to adjust both the DAC to your audio system and to adapt it to your listening style.
Contents of the package
The package contains the AK4137 module, an LCD screen module, a button module, the cables for the screen and the button and a terminal block for the power supply. You can also add a Coaxial, AES and BNC connector. The XMOS power supply and USB interface are sold separately.
Jumper J01, J02 and J03
The use of these functions may, in the event of improper handling, cause the device to malfunction.
- J01 : Power supply 3.3V for header 20 pins. Do not use J01 and a USB module at the same time, otherwise the module will be irreparably damaged.
- J02 : MCLK signal is provided by AK4137EQ (Do not connect at the same time as J03)
- J03 : The MCLK signal is supplied by the oscillator (Do not connect at the same time as J02)
