Offering high efficiency while maintaining low distortion, the Dayton Audio DMA80-4 Aluminium wideband cone driver is ideal for integration into many compact DIY speaker projects.

Designed to deliver the best possible performance, the design of the DMA80-4 allows it to deliver a very wide frequency range with a low level of distortion. The motor uses two Neodymium magnets, creating a strong symmetrical electromagnetic field for high efficiency and excellent membrane control. The magnet assembly also incorporates a Copper part to lower inductance and distortion, resulting in an improved high frequency response. The 1" 2-layer coil is wound on an open Aluminium support providing excellent heat dissipation, allowing the speaker to withstand high power and low power compression. The rubber suspension and wide spider hold the very light aluminium diaphragm in a totally linear manner, while providing excellent mechanical damping. In addition, the Aluminium core cover is directly attached to the coil holder to improve high frequency response with exceptional off-axis performance. The whole is maintained by a 12-branch bowl with an open design, with wide ventilation under the spider and a large space for a high linear excursion.

In addition, Dayton Audio designed the DMA range with DIY speaker designers in mind. Thus, the large mounting surface allows easy positioning, without the need for precision cutting. To facilitate installation, the terminals are oriented so that no cut-outs or notches are required to clear the connectors or wires. Finally, the corners of the speaker have a radius of 1/8", which means that for flush mounting, you can get a perfect fit using any standard 1/4" straight cut drill bit.
