E1DA's FDA PowerDAC V2.1 headphone amplifier builds on the excellent foundation of its predecessor, the PowerDAC V2, while now allowing operation with both balanced and single-ended headphones. Thus, its balanced output is identical to that of the PDv2, with a 2.5mm TRRS jack allowing an output up to 600mW per channel. The single-ended output can be used with the supplied 2.5/3.5mm jack adapter with four times less power than the balanced output. A Boost mode allows it to enjoy a power of 600mW in single-ended, with a slight effect of crossfeed.

This PowerDAC V2.1 version also features a soft-start function to avoid high inrush current. The device can thus work with any Android smartphone.

A free mobile app is also available for Android and iOS, offering additional features. It features volume and tone control, seven parametric EQs, LPF, HPF and APF filters for phase alignment, a compressor and limiter, a profile manager and preset EQs.

The connection between the HPToy application and the PowerDAC V2.1 is automatic. Simply activate the Bluetooth function of your smartphone and open the application to perform the pairing.
