FOSI AUDIO DS2 Headphone Amplifier Portable DAC

The Fosi Audio DS2, the evolution of the DS1, is an extremely compact headphone amplifier/portable DAC. It's ideal for enjoying superior sound reproduction with a source such as a smartphone, tablet or your laptop. In fact, it incorporates two CS43131 DAC/headphone amplifier chips and a SA9312 USB interface. This enables the Fosi Audio DS2 to support high-resolution streams up to PCM 32bit 384kHz and DSD256, all with a THD+N of 0.001% and an SNR of 130dB.
Moreover, the DS2's output power enables it to drive most headphones on the market with impedances ranging from 16 ohm to 300 ohm. It delivers 130mW under 32 ohms on its 3.5mm jack output and 510mW under 32ohm on its 4.4mm balanced jack output. In addition to its USB-C input and headphone outputs, the DS2 features a 60-step volume control accessible via two control buttons located on one of its sides. Finally, it is compatible with a large number of plug-and-play systems such as Android, IOS and Windows.

The Fosi DS2 blows away the objective barriers for a portable DAC and headphone amplifier, producing desktop class noise and distortion. Hard to imagine this little device doing that but it clearly is, and doing it at such a reasonable cost! If you are short of space, the DS2 can easily play the role of a desktop DAC.
