IBASSO PB5 Portable Headphone Amplifier

The iBasso PB5 is a portable analog headphone amplifier based on a balanced structure and the use of audiophile components. Its preamplification stage is based on Nutube 6P1 tubes, while its amplification stage uses OPA827 and VCEsat transistors. A hybrid design, it offers the smoothness and warmth of tubes coupled with the power of more modern components for a power output of up to 2x1700W @ 32 ohms. Added to this are gain control, a 24-position volume control and no less than 6 batteries for up to 10h30 autonomy. As for the interface, there's a 4.4mm jack input and two outputs, a 3.5mm jack output and a balanced 4.4mm jack output. All in all, the iBasso PB5 OSPREY offers a high level of compatibility while preserving exceptional sound quality.

iBasso PB5: tube preamplifier stage

The preamplifier stage of the iBasso PB5 benefits from two sixth-generation Nutube tubes developed by Korg and Noritake. These two tubes behave like traditional triode tubes, bringing rich, warm tones while maintaining exceptional linearity. Ibasso has also taken care to place these tubes on a suspension mechanism to limit microphonic effects, so that they can offer a pure, transparent rendering.

iBasso PB5: a 6-battery design

The iBasso PB5 integrates no fewer than 6 batteries, 2 of which power its preamplifier stage, while the other 4 power its amplifier stage. This arrangement greatly preserves the final sound reproduction while offering up to 10h30 of autonomy, making the PB5 the perfect ally for your travels. Power is supplied via a 5V USB-C port.
