Shanling offers with its UP5 a compact and extremely powerful DAC and portable headphone amplifier combo. The UP5 is based on the UP4, but with many improvements. The UP5 features two ESS ES9219C DAC and amplifier chips, optimized to provide excellent sound quality while taking advantage of reduced power consumption. These chips are combined with an XMOS XU208 USB interface for fast and stable signal transmission.

The clock is managed by a 3rd generation custom FPGA, combined with two KDS femtosecond oscillators (45.1584MHz and 49.152MHz) with low phase noise. This design allows a significant reduction of jitter for a precise and transparent playback. The UP5 has both a 3.5mm unbalanced output and two balanced outputs in 2.5mm and 4.4mm jack formats, to suit all uses and all headphones and earphones.

The UP5 can also be controlled remotely via the Shanling Broadcast Control APP. This application provides access to a number of options such as EQ, volume, DAC usage mode and OTA updates.

Shanling also includes a SiSonic microphone with cVc 8.0 noise cancellation technology and DSP in the UP5. This means that you can make calls directly with complete peace of mind.

Finally, the UP5 supports the decoding and playback of MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files for a listening experience as close as possible to the studio recording. It also supports, via its USB input, PCM streams up to 32bit 384kHz and DSD up to DSD256.
