High Quality Digital Decoding & Amplification

The conversion stage of the XD-05 Basic features an excellent ES9018K2M  DAC chip capable of reading high-resolution files, up to 32bit 384kHz PCM and up to DSD256, for high-fidelity listening. This contributes greatly to an immersive sound reproduction of great precision. This DAC is associated with high-performance interface chips: a Cirrus Logic CS8422 for SPDIF signals, an XMOS XUF208 for USB. This is followed by a low-pass filter, an AOP and current amplifiers.

The amplification stage therefore integrates a DIP8-mounted AOP that can be replaced to adapt the sound signature, as well as a Class A circuit, the merits of which have already been praised by many audiophiles. This architecture allows the XD-05 Basic to deliver a power of 500mW, allowing it to accompany all types of headphones. It will be as comfortable with demanding headphones with impedance up to 600Ω, as it will be with very sensitive in-ear headphones.

In addition, the device allows you to adjust the gain level to suit any listening device, while limiting distortion and providing fast response without increasing background noise, always with a view to maximum compatibility. A Bass Boost feature provides hardware-based bass boost, ideal for use when enjoying a movie or video game. The 4 PCM filters and the 3 DSD filters allow you to adjust the sound reproduction to best suit your type of listening, by playing on the response curve. The XD-05 also features an SRC hardware system to improve the quality of files with a low bit rate to find many details.

Optimized Battery & Display

The XD-05 features a large 3.7V 4000mAh Lithium Ion Polymer battery that provides at least 9 hours of continuous playback! Once at home, simply switch the power switch to EXTE to use an external power supply, such as a charger or a power bank.

A 0.91" OLED display clearly shows the sample rate of the file being played back, the selected input, the battery level and the selected filter. The volume knob is also surrounded by an LED, lighting up to indicate low battery power.
