XDUOO XD05 PRO
Portable Headphone Amplifier DAC ES9039SPRO XMOS XU316 32bit 768kHz DSD512 MQA 8x
With the XD05 Pro, xDuoo unveils a high-performance, robust and versatile portable DAC / headphone amplifier. It features high-quality components such as an ESS ES9039SPRO DAC chip and two dual TI OPA1612A. The XD05 Pro's design allows these components to be replaced to provide a listening experience tailored to your preferences. Two L49720 dual OPAs are also directly supplied. This portable headphone amplifier / DAC is also equipped with an XMOS XU316 USB interface and a QCC5125 Bluetooth reception chip. Thanks to its Class A amplification circuitry, the XD05 Pro delivers a warm sound, with excellent performance and decodes up to 32bit 768kHz PCM, DSD512 and MQA x8, while achieving an output power of up to 930mW under 300Ω and 2000mW under 32Ω. The design features 2 screens, 1 of which is directly integrated into the volume control potentiometer.
ESS ES9039SPRO DAC chip
xDuoo has chosen to integrate an ESS ES9039SPRO DAC chip, an 8-channel 32bit chip specially designed for professional applications. This chip is based on HyperStream IV architecture. At the cutting edge of technology, it also incorporates an MQA renderer. The xDuoo XD05 Pro is therefore able to decode up to 32bit 768kHz PCM, DSD512 and MQA x8. It should be noted that this DAC chip, in addition to its exceptional decoding characteristics, gives the XD05 Pro a very low SNR level of 0.0007% and a THD+N under 120dB on its balanced and single-ended headphone outputs.
Class A headphone amplification and unequalled output power
The xDuoo XD05 Pro incorporates an amplifier circuit with TI OPA1612A and Class A buffer transistors for warm, powerful and richly detailed sound reproduction. Its headphone output power rises to 510mW under 600Ω, 930mW under 300Ω and 2000mW under 32Ω. This headphone amplifier is therefore able to drive a very large number of headphones and earphones on the market whether their impedance is 32Ω or 600Ω.
In addition, two line outputs on the rear panel enable it to drive active loudspeakers. A Jack 3.5mm output with a 2V output level and a Jack .4mm balanced output with a 4V output level. The xDuoo XD05 Pro can therefore be used as a desktop preamplifier.
Three adjustable output powers
TURBO Mode
Suitable for high-impedance headphones and earphones from 250Ω to 600Ω. Output power up to 930mW at 300Ω.
NORMAL Mode
Suitable for "current-hungry" headphones, this mode delivers high output current.
ECO Mode
Suitable for low-impedance headphones. Sound performance remains good and this mode avoids overdrive.
Swappable components
One of the special features of the XD05 Pro portable headphone amplifier / DAC is its ability to change components for a listening experience adapted to the user's preferences. In fact, the ESS ES9039SPro DAC chip and the two OPAs can be changed easily. Two additional L49720 OPAs are also included with the XD05 Pro. To change these components, simply unscrew two small caps on the underside of the XD05 Pro. The OPAs are mounted in DIP8 format, while the DAC chip is mounted on an aluminum-sheathed PCB. xDuoo plans to release various DAC chips compatible with the XD05 Pro soon.
Bluetooth 5.1 functionnality
The XD05 Pro is an excellent wired device, but it also features Bluetooth 5.1 functionality thanks to its Qualcomm QCC5125 chip, and is able to support the many existing Bluetooth codecs: SBC, ACC, aptX, aptX LL, aptX HD and LDAC to offer the best possible wireless listening experience.
Complete connectivity
In terms of connectivity, xDuoo's XD05 Pro is very well equipped for use with a wide range of source devices, including smartphones, computers, tablets, turntables, Hi-Fi players and CD players. Its digital interface features a USB-C input, a Jack 3.5mm coaxial / optical input, an AES mini XLR input and two line inputs/outputs, one on balanced Jack 4.4mm and the other on single-ended Jack 3.5mm. The front panel features two headphone outputs: balanced Jack 4.4mm and single-ended Jack 6.35mm.
