Access your audio files without going through a computer

The Allo DigiOne Player is a digital player with network support. It is therefore able to play your audio files from a remote source. This source can be a hard drive within the network or even an online streaming service.

With no screen and no control interface, this player can be remotely controlled from a mobile phone, tablet, computer or any device capable of running a web browser. This means you can enjoy great audio playback with convenient remote control.

Dedicated audio player

Used in a hi-fi system, this type of network drive is extremely practical since it is infinitely more compact than a conventional computer and thus limits the space occupied. Wireless connectivity is also a real asset, to reduce clutter due to cable clutter. Conversely, all of its computing power and computer construction are mobilized to serve audio quality. The sound quality will therefore be multiplied in comparison with that offered by a smartphone or a conventional tablet.

This way, your communication and work devices avoid being solicited for precarious audio use and remain available for their other functions: no more phone ringing in the middle of an opera or computer updating during a guitar solo. The network player, on the other hand, has only an audio function and will therefore have no excuse to disturb the listening experience.

Volumio, advanced audio software pre-installed

Unlike many network players based on an SBC such as Raspberry Pi, this DigiOne Player is already equipped with a pre-installed audio software solution. Therefore no Linux installation or Micro SD card flashing skills are required. The device is ready to use and all that is left to do is connect it to your network to take advantage of its extensive capabilities.

Volumio is a software solution developed with the aim of providing excellent audio performance while offering an intuitive and ergonomic interface that is particularly easy to use. This software exploits the full hardware capabilities of the Raspberry Pi, in particular its connectivity, since it offers the possibility to control the player from any device capable of connecting to a web browser (computer, smartphone, tablet...). It is therefore very easy to browse through your audio files, change playback options or volume from anywhere, as long as a network connection exists.

To go even further and extend the capabilities of the device, Volumio is also able to manage a WiFi hotspot, i.e. to set up an ad-hoc network if the fixed network fails. This means that the device will still be able to play your audio library, even if your router/internet box fails. On the other hand, it also allows the network player to be moved to be used in private network locations.

Open Source and the freedom to choose

The tradition of SBC is singularly articulated around the notion of Open Source. Devices and software solutions compatible with Raspberry Pi are no exception to the rule and you will be able to easily change the software installed on your network drive if you wish to experiment with other solutions and functions.

This network player will work just as well with Max2Play, DietPi or piCorePlayer depending on your audio projects. Simply extract the Micro SD card and flash it with the software image of your choice.
