The Sonic Imagery Labs 990ENH-TICHA model is a high-performance, discrete operational amplifier (OPA) designed for professional audio applications and areas where ultra-low noise, low distortion and highly linear, uncolored operation are required. This model has been designed to replace Jensen JE990, Automated Processes Inc API-2520, John Hardy Co 990A-990C, FiveFish Studios DOA Series, Seventh Circle Audio SC10, SC25, SC99 and Avec Audio 1122 amplifiers. Pin-outs conform to the 2520/990 case, allowing direct replacement.
The fully discrete SMT design is similar to the basic topology of the JE990, but has been completely redesigned to use a pair of highly accurate matched differential transistors to meet the requirements of ultra-low noise, THD and high linearity audio systems, all without sound coloration. In addition to the improved input stage, the 990ENH-TICHA uses high-precision, temperature-stable power supply-independent current sources. Supply-independent current sources ensure that the bias remains locked at the optimum operating point, whatever the supply voltage. The low-distortion Class A output stage can absorb or supply 250mA, enabling this module to drive transformers with ease.
Built-in heat sinks for the power transistors, combined with an anodized aluminum case, allow the Sonic Imagery Labs 990ENH-TICHA to operate within a wide safe area (SOA) and not suffer from Beta drop when using heavy loads. Each amplifier is fully individually tested and meets or exceeds published specifications.
