Sonic Imagery Labs' model 994ENH-TICHA is a high-performance dual discrete operational amplifier (OPA) designed for professional audio applications and areas where ultra-low noise, low distortion and highly linear, uncolored operation are required. The 994ENH-TICHA discrete OPA achieves a new standard of noise excellence with a measurement at 0.89nV/Rt.Hz (@ 1kHz). This very low noise is combined with excellent high-speed specifications, extremely low output distortion and precision parameters (offset voltage greater than 200µV, open-loop voltage gain of 118dB). Although the 994ENH-TICHA input stage operates at close to 1mA to ensure low voltage noise, the input bias current remains below 1µA.

The SMT design is entirely discrete, but has been completely redesigned to use a pair of highly accurate matched differential transistors to meet the requirements of ultra-low noise and THD audio systems. In addition to the improved input stage, the 9904NH-TICHA uses high-precision, temperature-stable power supply-independent current sources. Supply-independent current sources ensure that the bias remains locked at the optimum operating point, whatever the supply voltage and temperature. The low-distortion Class A output stage can absorb or supply 150mA, enabling this module to drive transformers with ease.
