Sonic Imagery Labs' Model 995FET-TICHA is a high-performance, discrete operational amplifier (OPA) designed for professional audio applications and areas where ultra-low noise, low distortion and highly linear, uncolored operation are required. A matched-pair FET input stage is integrated to provide superior sound quality and speed for outstanding audio performance. This, combined with a high output level and excellent DC performance, enables use in a wide variety of applications. What's more, the 995FET's output amplitude allows for increased headroom, making it ideal for any audio circuit.
The OPA 995FET-TICHA can operate over a supply range of ±10V to ±24V. The input cascode circuit provides excellent common-mode rejection and maintains a low input bias current over its wide input voltage range, minimizing distortion. It is also stable at unity gain and offers excellent dynamic behavior over a wide range of load conditions.
The fully discrete SMT design uses a pair of highly accurate matched differential FETs to meet the requirements of ultra-low noise and THD audio systems. In addition to the enhanced input stage, the 995FET-TICHA uses high-precision, temperature-stable, supply-independent current sources. Supply-independent current sources ensure that the bias remains locked at the optimum operating point, whatever the supply voltage. The low-distortion Class A output stage can absorb or supply 250mA, enabling this module to drive transformers with ease.
Built-in heat sinks for the power transistors, combined with an anodized aluminum case, allow the Sonic Imagery Labs 995FET-TICHA to operate within a wide safe area (SOA) and not suffer from Beta drop when using heavy loads. Each amplifier is fully individually tested and meets or exceeds published specifications.
