MiniBoss DAC PCM5122 32bit 784kHz
The Allo MiniBoss DAC is an analog digital conversion (DAC) module with a PCM5122 chip, supporting high sampling rates up to 32bit 384kHz. In addition, it is equipped with two clocks, 45MHz and 49MHz. These allow to solve the jitter problem induced by the Raspberry Pi which generates its clocks thanks to its processor. Thus, the Raspberry only transmits data (DATA) and the DAC takes care of the clocks to considerably limit jitter.
In addition, the power supply stage has been designed to reduce the noise generated by separating the digital and analog stages as well as the clocks. A signal that is then filtered again with LDOs to achieve an ever lower noise level. Japanese NDK oscillators are also integrated on the module, to further reduce jitter.
The analog stage is equipped with a TI chip powered by a discrete DC power supply. A power gain when the analog stage is allowed thanks to the use of a supercapacitor, ensuring in particular the restitution of deep bass.
