Streamer Raspberry Pi 3 B+ I2S HDMI LVDS Reclocker Allo Kali Audio-GD compatible
We propose you a model updated of our RaspDIGI LTE with this version V2. This takes advantage of the solid base of the first version, namely the management of the I2S signal and the reclocking of the signal; The MCLK can be used by the Allo Kali to ensure a high quality sound reproduction, while expanding the list of compatible DAC thanks to a new I2S / HDMI interface.
This RaspDIGI LTE V2 opens the doors to high definition materialized music. You can thus have the practical aspect of the network player, by going directly to get your music on your local network, all at a distance. This way, you can enjoy your high definition files and the quality that comes with them.
But this listening quality is also enabled by an efficient design thanks to I2S signal management with HDMI LVDS output but also thanks to the Allo Kali, providing a previous clock for a drastically harsh jitter.
With regard to the software solution, you are free to choose the one that best suits your desires and needs, RaspDIGI being compatible with most OS for Raspberry Pi. However, we recommend Volumio, piCorePlayer and DietPi distributions, which are particularly suitable for audio use.
To provide high quality playback, this RaspDIGI LTE V2 uses and transcribes the I2S signal provided by the Raspberry Pi 3 B+. This one has the advantage of requiring as little conversion as possible.
To obtain the highest possible I2S signal quality, the RaspDIGI LTE V2 incorporates an I2S FIFO Allo Kali reclocker. This one provides an ultra low jitter 44 / 48MHz clock powered by LDO and an ultra quiet power supply.
Thus, Kali will be able to process the I2S signal from the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ to get the most accurate synchronization. The processed signal is then redirected to an I2S to LVDS interface on HDMI connector and balanced.
This combination delivers incredible audio performance that won’t be long in coming: your music opens, the sound stage extends, and the hitherto inaudible details are now perceptible.
If the previous version of the RaspDIGI LTE was already compatible with many DACs and especially the excellent converters from Audio-GD, this version goes even further by expanding the list of compatible devices. Thus, a jumper on the I2S / HDMI interface module allows you to choose between two positions, to adapt the device to the pinout of your DAC.
You will find below a non exhaustive list of brands proposing compatible DAC.
The pin "DSD on" is not managed, the DSD reading is possible only with DAC with processor of signal able to detect this format, as for example the Armature Asterion.
To ensure the compatibility of your DAC, we strongly recommend that you check its pinout and clock frequency in th table, HDMI tab I2S Format.
