From the 28mm high resolution tweeter, to the passive phase filter and dragstic optimization of the cabinet, the 500 concepts are a real achievement where every detail counts with a clever mix of industrial power at the service of an artisanal design in the noble sense of the word.

To achieve this high quality result, Qacoustics' engineering team called upon the German laboratory Fink Audio Consulting and especially the world renowned designer Karl Heinz Fink. All the criteria making a good speaker pair are thus taken into account obtaining an overall result of a rare equilibrium on columns of this price.

For example, the Q Acoustics Concept 500 column loudspeakers offer a considerable number of innovative technical qualities in a highly competitive and coreless product range.


- Gelcore MDF no vibration ! -



Gelcore : These superb columns bypass the problems of the internal cabinet resonances by a sandwich of MDF walls alternating with a Gelcore material with a high damping coefficient on a large audible spectrum where many materials only deal with part of the problem. When you listen to it, this translates into better legibility of the micro information.

-Strong aluminium feet-



Solid aluminium base plate : This box inert of any harmful vibrations would be nothing without a base plate making the mechanical connection with the ground, thus serving as a mechanical coupling for the last harmful vibrations of the lower part of the spectrum. The Concept 500 columns are thus equipped with a solid aluminium base to reinforce the rigidity of the assembly and the load-bearing capacity on the ground with adjustable points.

Linear Linkwitz Riley 24dB Filter : A good passive filter with low dispersion in the listening axis should be as close as possible to the theoretical model with minimal insertion losses while keeping the bandwidth linearity, dynamics and micro details of the original signal. That's why Q Acoustics called upon the best modelling software and the reference of capacitors and chokes on the market, the German brand Mundorf.
The response in the treble of this filter can be set to +/- 0.5dB by straps on two positions.

European-designed loudspeakers : The bass midrange loudspeakers fitted to the Concept 500 are equipped with powerful magnetic motors with copper rings in the eddy current limiting crossings, which also reduce small distortions that are detrimental to the reproduction of low intensity signals. The 28mm tweeter with copper coil on a ventilated fiberglass support damped in synthetic rubber is designed in the same spirit bringing precision and harmonic looseness without caricature or flattering effect.
