This small FiiO KA1 portable DAC is small only in size. Compact & Powerful
With dimensions of only 40x15x8mm, one might think that the available space is quite meager to offer a quality audio device. For the FiiO KA1 not only integrates a high-end DAC, but also embeds a powerful amplification circuit, each element being meticulously optimized by the brand's engineers. The KA1 is thus able to reproduce your music with great fidelity.
ESS ES9281AC Pro DAC
At the heart of the KA1 is an ESS ES9281AC Pro digital-to-analog conversion chip, combining a USB audio interface, DAC and amplifier in a single chipset. Combined with a gold-plated multi-layer HDI PCB, the result is very low crosstalk, high efficiency with low power consumption and pure sound reproduction.
High-end decoding
The intelligent design of the FiiO KA1 allows it to support high sampling rates for the most detailed sound reproduction possible. It supports PCM streams up to 32bit 384kHz, native DSD up to DSD256 and DSD DoP up to DoP128.
MQA Rendering
The FiiO KA1 is also officially MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) certified. It is therefore fully capable of rendering this type of file, allowing to enjoy a sound as close as possible to the original studio recording, while keeping a limited file size. This is particularly good news for owners of a TIDAL account, the famous streaming platform offering this format for audiophile listening.
Status indicator
On the front panel, the KA1 displays a circular RGB LED indicator. This one displays in real time the type of file being played, according to the following color code:
- Blue : 48kHz or below
- Jaune : greater than 48kHz
- Vert : DSD
- Magenta : MQA
