Easy-to-carry DAC / AMP for a great sound reproduction anytime & anywhere
The Q5 is a portable DAC with a headphone amplifier. It works with the excellent amplification module AM3A Fiio and in turn benefits from a very faithful sound reproduction (certified Hi Res)
To be ready for all situations, the Q5 has a wide range Connectors. It is equipped with a micro-USB input compatible computers / SBC / smartphone & amp; tablets (including Apple), optical S / PDIF input and even bluetooth 4.2 apt-X wireless connectivity (better audio performance).
If it is first of all an audio tool designed to take advantage of the high definition in everyday life, it will also be appreciated during the displacement since it allows to board an amplifier and a decoder of confidence without cluttering. As such, it can respond to many issues of connectivity during travel, since the connection of a smartphone on a son of old generation car to the quick connection of a laptop to a mixer for a conference with presentation.
The more audiophiles will also appreciate the possibility of using it as a point of reference to test and compare several High Fidelity elements without having to transport any & nbsp; installation.
With its 3800 mAh battery and optimized circuits, the Q5 can operate up to 25h on line input and 10h on digital input. This is largely enough to take advantage of its excellent sounds between two charges.
A discreet and accessible rotary knob makes it easy to adjust the volume.
To avoid volume-related signal degradation, the Q5 incorporates an ADC (analog / digital conversion) mechanism with 256 adjustment levels. The listening can be done at a reasonable level while maintaining excellent audio quality.
The Q5 is natively equipped with the AM3A amplification module. The latter uses high-performance AD8620 JFET AOPs as well as OPA926s that allow high sound transparency.
Very flexible, the Q5 is part of the FiiO line and will work with all FiiO amplification modules. A simple and space-saving way to meet the requirements of many different headsets or to change the sound signature of the nomadic amplifier.
Very comfortable to use, the design of this DAC / Nomadic Amplifier is designed to simplify the life of its owner. Its construction and its accessories testify a particular care brought to the user experience.
The Q5 is delivered with all the connectors and adapters which will make it possible to use it from the beginning to 100% of its capacities. Everything can be transported with ease thanks to a storage pocket.
A light slot on the front automatically changes color to indicate the active source (automatically detected according to the signal) and to inform about the battery status.
The design of the Q5 voluntarily uses a redundancy of the micro USB input to have two isolated inputs: one dedicated to the load and the other to digital data. The Data input does not experience any noise from the power supply. This specificity reduces noise at all levels.
Similarly, the Fiio Q5 power supply is designed to favor a clean signal. Each internal element, DAC, line output, volume control, filters, amplifier, XMOS and bluetooth receiver are isolated from each other by as many power and regulator (LDO) filters high accuracy. A very effective way to reduce interference and noise from the signal.
The Q5 ships two AK4490EN chips for high precision decoding on each channel.
This chip is capable of decoding formats up to 384kHz / 32 bit while maintaining a very low signal-to-noise ratio.
This DAC chip is natively DSD-compatible and will be able to offer optimal decoding of the best audio resolutions up to DSD256.
The Fiio Q5 benefits from a powerful USB interface thanks to an XMF XUF208 chip that can process high resolution audio files. This chip is recognized in the audio world for its power, reliability and interoperability with the vast majority of audio sources. It will ensure optimal connectivity with almost all computers, smartphones, tablets and other SBC without manufacturer or brand limit.
Similarly, the XMOS XUF208 chip also has native DSD support. This makes the Q5 an excellent decoder support with many interoperability options and architecture that respects audio quality.
The entire device benefits from this optimized audio interface since the Bluetooth antenna also entrusts its decoding to the XMOS chip, which together with the apt-X support allows a great versatility in the wireless decoding .
The circuit uses active OPA1642 operational amplifiers.
These are intended exclusively for audio uses with an ultra-low distortion rate (0.00005% at 1 kHz) and a minimum noise level (5.1 nV / √Hz @ 1 kHz). The JFET architecture makes them excellent AOPs that give excellent results for headphone listening or any other high sensitivity device.
