USB DAC / digital interface / Headphone Amplifier / volume control source 96kHz / 24bit
The UK-01 is a 96kHz USB DAC with analog output (Line) and digital (Optical & Coaxial). It has ADDITION a dedicated headphone output.
This device - amazing for its size (93.2x52x13mm / 54g) and its many features - is particularly useful in connecting a snap your mobile configuration with your fixed audio system. It also represents a valuable space saver for sedentary audio systems to a minimum space.
It is powered by USB (USB-A input) and can operate with a digital source such as a computer or an Android device using a micro-USB male / USB-A Male ensuring data transfer.
The UK-01 takes its functionality procession to a CM6533 chip. The latter supports USB / SPDIF interfacing and the DAC 2-way function.
In its DAC function, the chip manages sampling frequency from 8 to 96 kHz with a resolution 16 / 24bit.
Mode digital interface (SPDIF Optical / Coax), the audio stream supports frequencies up to 48kHz.
The device uses an audio amplifier chip stereo DirectDrive 130mW @ 32Ω MAX9722 to his headphones.
The chip meets the specifications for a clean, consistent sound reproduction in the context of a nomadic / compact sound system.
There are differential inputs and suppression of enhanced noise. The apparatus thus sees low distortion (THD + N of 0.03%), a 91dB signal to noise ratio inherent protection anti clicks / pops and a low audible spectrum very well preserved through integrated on each output capacitors,
All outputs are about 3.5mm silver - including the digital output that will require a Mini-Toslink to Toslink cable (no supplied with this item).
This choice allows to keep a very compact form-factor while using primarily a common and easy to handle connectivity.
In its USB DAC function, the UK 01 is capable of driving the source volume (digital) by sending signals up volume / down volume that will be recognized by all compatible operating systems (Android & Windows).
It is not an internal volume control but a remote control of the source. For example, if the UK 01 USB DAC is connected to a computer running Windows, the VOL + and VOL- buttons will directly increase / decrease the volume level mixer operating system. It's the same for Android systems.
