Ibasso unveils a new version of its DC06 portable DAC/headphone amplifier, the DC06 Pro. This compact device features high-quality components such as 2 ES9219C DAC chips. These two ESS chips also take care of signal amplification. Thanks to them, the DC06 Pro delivers rich, faithful sound reproduction, whether you use it on the move or at home. This new version now incorporates volume control knobs, supports new advanced functionalities on the UAC APP and features FGPA.
For its DC06 Pro, iBasso has chosen to use a pair of ES9219C digital-to-analog conversion chips, one per channel, to achieve a low noise floor for precise, transparent sound. These chips also offer amplification to deliver plenty of power. What's more, this new chip ensures low power consumption without negatively impacting performance.
Ibasso's DC06 Pro provides a clean, stable power supply, free from noise and interference. The power supply to the amplifier section is separated by a synchronous DC-DC converter, a low-noise charge pump chip and an LDO.
This allows the amplification section to operate at full capacity, reaching an output power of 320mW @ 32 ohm. Overall, the sound reproduction is dynamic and transparent.
The DC06 Pro incorporates an NDK oscillator coupled with a FGPA algorithm specially developed by Ibasso to achieve minimal distortion and very precise, detailed sound reproduction.
The iBasso DC06 Pro can decode and play MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files up to MQA 16x. This type of file allows you to enjoy excellent sound quality, as close as possible to the original studio recording, while maintaining a reasonable file size suitable for streaming.
The input of the DC06 is simply on a USB-C connector, embedding a UAC2.0 receiver and allowing to easily connect a smartphone. For the output, the device provides unbalanced 3.5mm jack and balanced 4.4mm jack. With the USB driver installed, the DC06 can even be used as a sound card for a computer.
In addition, between its two outputs, an LED indicator displays the format of the file being played : blue for DSD, green for PCM, purple for MQA and red ofr standby.
Windows 10 and Android 5.0 or later support the UAC2.0 protocol by default. However, for compatibility reasons, Android smartphones still use the SRC protocol. When the DC06 Pro is connected, the maximum volume level is set by default. To control the device's volume level, iBasso has developed a UAC2.0 mobile application offering 100-level volume control. This is available free of charge for Android devices.
