With the Go Bar, iFi Audio offers its most powerful USB DAC and ultraportable headphone amplifier. With its particularly compact size, it can accompany you on all your travels to provide you with great listening quality at all times, whether from a smartphone, tablet or computer.
An efficient design
The digital/analog conversion stage of the Go Bar uses a 32bit DAC chip from Cirrus Logic, associated with a 16-core XMOS high performance USB interface. The latter benefits from a custom firmware, to provide an exceptional sound quality. This combination also allows the support of high resolution files, up to PCM 32bit 384kHz, DSD256 and even the support of MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) files.
We will also note the presence of a digital filter, also minimizing certain audio artifacts to alter the quality of listening, as well as a GMT (Global Master Timing) for an extremely low jitter level.
A sound that adapts to your listening
In order to adapt its sound reproduction to your tastes and your listening equipment, the Go Bar offers four digital filtering options:
Bit Perfect : No digital filter, pure audio signal.
Standard : Slight filtering and treatment of pre/post ringing artifacts.
Minimum Phase : Roll-off lent, traitement des artefacts audio pré/post sonnerie minimum.
Gibbs Transient Optimised : Minimal filtering, no treatment of pre-ringing artifacts, minimal treatment of post-ringing artifacts.
To this, the Go Bar adds two analog processing modes:
XBass+ : Analog low frequency boost.
XSpace : Improved soundstage for a better immersion.
Controls & Connectivity
The iFi Audio Go Bar features physical buttons for easy control of the device. It is possible to precisely adjust the volume level and to quickly access the different filtering and processing options. In addition, a series of LEDs indicate the sample rate of the file being played and the options activated.
On the connectivity side, the input is via a USB-C port. For the output, the Go Bar provides both a balanced 4.4mm jack and an S-Balanced 3.5mm jack, allowing you to enjoy the performance of a balanced connection with a single-ended headphone.
Comfortable power
Despite its small size, the Go Bar's balanced and isolated amplifier circuit delivers comfortable power while dramatically reducing noise and crosstalk. The circuit uses high quality discrete components and special attention has been paid to the filtered power supply section.
