With the xDSD Gryphon, iFi Audio unveils an excellent balanced portable DAC and headphone amplifier combo, showing a careful design, capable of incredible sound performance. Its Ultra-Res digital stage includes a Burr-Brown MultiBit DAC and its PureWave analog power section, capable of developing no less than 1000mW!
A complete and powerful device
The xDSD Gryphon features completely separate Bluetooth, DAC and amplifier stages to maximize performance. It also offers different connection modes with USB, SPDIF, Bluetooth or 4.4mm and 3.5mm jack as input.
Your music wirelessly
Equipped with a Qualcomm QCC5100 Bluetooth 5.1 receiver chip, the xDSD supports the latest and greatest Bluetooth transmission codecs, including aptX HD and aptX Adaptive as well as LDAC and HWA/LHDC. Technologies that allow a high quality wireless transmission, for a sound restitution sometimes even superior to the CD quality.
Optimal compatibility
Thanks to the use of its Burr-Brown DAC, the xDSD Gryphon is able to support very high resolution streams for an extremely precise and faithful sound reproduction. It will be able to read from its USB input PCM up to 32bit 768kHz, DSD512, DXD up to 768kHz and even decode MQA. On the SPDIF input side, it can support PCM up to 192kHz and DoP.
A powerful amplifier stage
The xDSD Gryphon uses a PureWave amplifier circuit, allowing it to deliver 1000mW of power at 32Ω. With a maximum output of 6.7V, it will be able to accompany high impedance headphones without difficulty. Moreover, it will be able to be used as well with balanced and single-ended headphone models.
Useful options
The iFi Audio xDSD Gryphon offers a number of useful options for tailoring the sound to your listening experience. XSpace technology provides a wider, more cavernous soundstage for immersive listening.
The XBass II system offers the possibility of regaining lost bass, especially when using open headphones. This one has moreover two modes, Bass and Presence in order not to erase for as much the mediums and high-mediums.
The IEMatch option, a proprietary technology developed by the brand, reduces the hissing sound produced by some high-sensitivity headphones, without losing dynamics.
Finally, when used with digital sources, the xDSD Gryphon provides three digital filters from the built-in display: Bit-Perfect, Standard or GTO (Gibbs Transient Optimised), each one bringing a nuance to the playback to adapt to each listener.
OLED Screen
The xDSD Gryphon is equipped with a beautiful OLED display, which clearly shows the main parameters of the device, the type of stream being played or its battery level. Moreover, thanks to the SilentLine technology, the display does not generate any noise that could alter the sound reproduction.
