Questyle M15i Portable DAC Headphone Amplifier ES9281AC 32bit 768kHz DSD512
The Questyle M15i is a DAC / headphone amplifier featuring an ES9281AC DAC chip with integrated class G headphone amplifier, enabling it to support sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512. This DAC chip is coupled with two CMA (Current Mode Amplification) circuits, i.e. transistors that extend frequency response and reduce distortion (< 0.0003% ) at the M15i's output. Unlike its little brother, the M12i, the M15i has a USB-C input, as well as two headphone outputs: a 3.5mm stereo jack (TRRS) and a balanced 4.4mm headphone jack. Its output power can reach over 2vrms on its balanced output, enabling it to drive a large number of headphones and IEMs available on the market. In addition to the high-end look with transparent glass, a manual gain control is now available on one of the M15i's sides. Coupled with a smartphone, tablet or computer, this little DAC/headphone amplifier is an ideal ally for enjoying your music library or streaming services.
The Lightning cable is not supplied, but is available as an accessory.
Questyle M15i: DAC ES9281AC
The ES9281AC DAC chip is a DAC chip that benefits from a QUAD DAC™ HyperStream® II architecture enabling the M15i to support sampling rates up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and native DSD up to DSD512.
Questyle M15i: dual CMA amplification
The Questyle M15i benefits from no less than 2 CMA SIP modules, enabling it to deliver clear, powerful sound while maintaining a distortion rate of less than 0.0003%. The result is a detailed sound output from the M15i, with a power output of :
- Jack 3.5mm : 11.97mW @ 300Ω (Vout Max = 1.895Vrms , THD+N 0.003%)
- Jack 4.4mm : 22.60mW @ 300Ω (Vout Max = 2.624Vrms , THD+N 0.003%)
Questyle M15i: high level of compatibility
Thanks to its gain control and balanced 3.5mm jack and 4.4mm jack headphone outputs, the M15i is able to adapt to a wide range of headphones and IEMs on the market. It is also fully compatible with iOS devices, Android version 5.1 and higher, driverless Windows 10 (version 18.3 and higher) and macOS environments.
Questyle M15i: LED indication
The M15i features 2 LEDs to indicate the current sampling rate, and two LEDs to indicate the gain level. One LED indicates a sampling rate below 48kHz (PCM), while 2 LEDs indicate a sampling rate above 48kHz (PCM-DSD). For gain, one LED means a low gain level and 2 LEDs a high gain level.
