Questyle's M18i is a DAC and headphone amplifier featuring a dual SABRE ES9219Q DAC chip and Current Mode Amplification technology to deliver 28mW of output power at 300Ω and support for signals up to 32bit 384kHz PCM and DSD256. Its CNC machined aluminium body houses a beautiful OLED display so you can access all the information about your track playback. Its flexibility of use and the quality of its sound reproduction make it the ideal companion for your headphones or earphones.
Questyle's M18i features the brand's signature current-mode amplification technology. This innovative approach, developed by the brand's founder Wang Fengshuo, sets itself apart by processing the signal as a current rather than a voltage, and uses transistors within a fully discrete architecture operating in pure Class A to deliver the best possible output. This approach has many advantages, including a significant reduction in transient intermodulation distortion (TIMD), a much higher bandwidth and extremely low harmonic distortion.
The M18i is equipped with two ESS SABRE ES9219Q chips in a symmetrical architecture. This enables the M18i to support a sampling rate of up to 32bit 384kHz PCM and DSD256, while ensuring an extremely low noise floor of -130dB.
The M18i offers a range of operating modes to suit every context of use:
The PC mode allows the M18i to be powered via the same USB port as the data transfer, so that it is directly powered by the device to which it is connected. Thanks to a second USB port dedicated entirely to charging, you can power the M18i independently of the data being sent to it.
In phone mode, the M18i uses its own 500mAh battery to power itself, using the USB port only for data transfer. This saves your phone's battery.
Finally, in Bluetooth mode, the M18i uses its own battery and relies on the Bluetooth 5.4 chip to transfer data with your source. In this mode, the M18i supports the AAC and SBC standard codecs and the aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive and LDAC high definition codecs. Furthermore, in this mode, you can use the MFB button to control your music playback: a single press to play/pause or answer a call, a double press to go to the next track or hang up.
During its development, the M18i was tested with numerous consumer phones and tablets to optimise compatibility. It is compatible with the iOS, HarmonyOS and Android operating systems for phones and tablets, and MacOS and Windows 10/11 for computers.
The M18i also features an Infineon microphone coupled with Qualcomm cVc Generation 8.0 noise reduction technology, allowing you to make crystal-clear phone calls free from background noise.
