With the UP6, Shanling presents a portable balanced headphone DAC and amplifier based on two ESS ES9069Q chips and two SGM8262 OPAs to offer conversion up to PCM 32bit 768kHz and DSD512 and an output power of 195mW at 32Ω single-ended and 626mW at 32Ω balanced.
In order to offer the best possible listening experience, the UP6's digital/analogue conversion stage is based on a pair of ESS ES9060Q DAC chips. These top-of-the-range DACs process signals up to a sampling rate of 32bit 768kHz in PCM and DSD512. Furthermore, the ESS chips have a -120dB harmonic distortion and an impressive dynamic range of 130dB, ensuring that even the most complex musical compositions are accurately converted.
To accompany the UP6's excellent converter stage, it incorporates two SGM262 OPAs, delivering an output power of 195mW at 32Ω single-ended and 626mW at 32Ω balanced. This more than impressive power output means that the UP6 can easily drive even the most power-hungry headphones and earphones.
To provide the best possible connectivity, the UP6 is equipped with a Qualcomm QCC5125 Bluetooth chip supporting LDAC, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, apt-X LL, aptx, AAC and SBC protocols.
To ensure that it can be connected via USB while taking full advantage of the capabilities of the ESS DAC chips, the UP6 incorporates an XMOS XU316 interface, which when coupled with two KDS crystal oscillators, supports a signal up to 32bit 768kHz PCM and DSD512.
The UP6 incorporates a host of different functions to suit every situation. For example, you'll find :
To control the many features of the UP6, such as managing Bluetooth codecs, customising the equalisation or updating the firmware, you can download the Eddict Player app, available on Android and iOS.
To ensure trouble-free use on the move, the UP6 has a 950mAh battery, enabling it to be used for up to 6.5 hours without interruption.
