Two modules NC500MP

Each channel has its own 500W high efficiency amplifier circuit; low output impedance, low distortion and low noise. Each circuit has an independent power supply, which refines the sound stage and to preserve the dynamic without causing additional distortion. All internal connections uses OCC 2.5mm² wiring to enjoy excellent conductivity and preserve all of the subtleties of the signal.

RCA and XLR switchable inputs

The power amplifier has two RCA (stereo) input ports and two XLR ports (balanced stereo). The RCA sockets are gold plated 24k with plastic heat-resistant capsule. XLR connectors are high quality Neutrik connectors with metal latch and gold-plated drivers .

A two position switch allows the user to toggle between the XLR and RCA input with ease. It it thus possible to connect two different preamps and alternate input sources.

5-12V trigger

A trigger socket brings the comfort of an ignition sequence and allows a complete integration into a well-developped audio system. The power input is a IEC14 socket with gold-plated copper conductors. The latter works with a 5x20mm fuse 3.150A (supplied and already mounted).

This amplifier's trigger needs to be used with a mono trigger cable (sold separately).

Heat dissipation

Because it is able to output considerable power, the HPA-S500NC will be subject to thermal stress during use. The heat management is a key issue to achieve a high level of sonic accuracy and keep distortion under a determined threshold.

For this reason, each amplification module is mounted on a large heat radiator which is capable of effectively dissipating the heat. Similarly, ventilation holes distributed carefully will promote air circulation and heat dissipation.

Very good performance
The HPA-S500NC replaced my beloved Audiolab 8000M amplifiers after 16 years in my setup, driving my Nubert nuLine 264 with ATM. This power amplifier is fed by a NAD C658 Preamp/DAC and it fits like a champ in this setup. "It doesn't sound" is by far the best compliment i can give. Very clear and linear sound and plenty of power.

The chassis quality is good and better what i've expected from the pictures. It's massive with no bells and whistles and serves its purpose perfectly. The connectors are really solid and provide good stability for any kind of cable. If there is anything to complain than probably the bright power lightning, sensitive people might get irritated, but for me it's not a problem.

In summary, a big recommendation from me.
