Audiophonics LPA-S450ET Class D Stereo Amplifier PURIFI 1ET6525SA 2x450W 4 Ohm
We're proud to present the Audiophonics LPA-S450ET, a Class D stereo power amplifier based on two Purifi 1ET6525SA modules. Electronically similar to the HPA-S450ET, this version is housed in a more compact case, making it easier to use in environments where space is at a premium, and its architecture also limits the length of internal connections.
This ready-to-install, ready-to-use model is aimed at audiophiles looking for a foolproof amplification solution, with considerable power reserves and impeccable definition. PURIFI modules are among the most rigorous Class D amplification solutions on the market, with measured performance that is simply outstanding.
The result is a high level of sound reproduction, suitable for use with demanding speakers, large listening rooms or studio applications requiring considerable headroom without compromising on the precision and richness of the audio message.
All components are housed in a sober, robust and compact aluminum case. It features openings to facilitate heat dissipation. Its design also limits the impact of interference on the signal.
Audiophonics LPA-S450ET: Two PURIFI 1ET6525SA modules
- Each channel of the amplifier circuit uses its own PURIFI 1ET6525SA module. These high-performance Class D amplifier circuits each deliver a very comfortable output power of 450W at 4Ω or 230W at 8 Ohm, while benefiting from the high efficiency of Class D amplifiers.
- The 1ET6525SA modules feature a high-gain loop in excess of 85dB over the entire frequency band, providing high performance across the entire spectrum, surpassing any amplifier of any class.
- Highly effective in terms of intermodulation distortion (IMD), these modules enable the LPA-S450ET to deliver a stereophonic image of formidable precision across the entire spectrum, for redoubled clarity, even during the most complex musical works.
- Harmonic distortion (THD) is kept extremely low at all power levels. This translates into an absence of sound signature and the ability to reproduce all types of music without coloration.
- Output noise is negligible, allowing deep silences and favoring the appearance of detail when listening at low volume.
- The circuit benefits from a high level of rejection (PSRR) that minimizes the impact of the power supply on audio performance.
- The load-independent frequency response makes it possible to enjoy all the qualities of this amplification technology, even with the most difficult-to-drive speakers.
- Low quiescent power consumption and electromagnetic radiation (EMI). The high-gain loop considerably relieves the workload on the MOSFETs, enabling them to operate under optimum conditions, reducing losses and EMI emissions.
- The LPA-S450ET's amplifier modules are linked by a specially developed interface board for optimum integration.
Audiophonics LPA-S450ET: Hypex SMPS1200A400 power supply module
The SMPS1200 switched-mode power supply is an ultra-high-efficiency model capable of developing a rated power of 1200 Watts in an extremely compact design. It has been specifically designed and developed by Hypex to supply the 2x64V voltage required to operate the most demanding amplifier modules.
This high-quality, low-noise power supply meets the power requirements of the amplifier modules in every respect. What's more, the modules themselves have an excellent ability to reject power supply noise. As a result, the LPA-S450ET is extremely insensitive to mains imperfections and voltage/current variations that can cause parasitic noise.
Audiophonics LPA-S450ET: Audiophonics interface board
The 2 modules are controlled in phase opposition, to cancel the “Power-Supply Pumping” effect. This makes for greater power supply stability, alternately distributing current calls on each rail, thus increasing its capacity.
We opted for 2-level voltage regulation, to optimize the power supply to the OPAs and the auxiliary voltage supplied to the modules.
One Audiophonics OPA1656 OPA is used per channel. These are very low-distortion OPAs offering the highest transparency with very low THD. They are mounted on a DIP8 socket, allowing them to be replaced if necessary.
To suit all uses, we have opted for 4 gain settings, selectable via jumper on the underside of the unit:
- Total gain of 12.5dB - Maximum power reached with a 10.06V RMS signal.
- Total gain of 20dB (default) - Maximum power reached with a 4.24V RMS signal.
- Total gain of 25dB - Maximum power reached with a 2.39Vrms signal.
- Total gain of 29dB - Maximum power reached with a 1.51Vrms signal.
Audiophonics LPA-S450ET: Connectors
Designed for easy integration, the LPA-S450ET features both single-ended (RCA) and balanced (XLR) stereo inputs. Bipolar selectors make it easy to change input sources, and even allow independent control of channels.
At the output, BP-207 carbon / 24k gold insulated terminal blocks Ø5.5mm ensure an excellent connection with the speakers.
