GLA Volume Control Module

This GLA digital volume control module consists of an encoder and a remote control. This module is dedicated to volume control, replacing traditional mechanical potentiometers. Thanks to its integrated chips, it avoids sliding noises. Its many functions make it an ideal choice for any DIY project:

• Volume position memory: the last volume level is retained on power-on.
• Mute mode: using the remote control or by pressing the potentiometer.
• Wide volume control range: -79db to +10dB
• Pre-amplification function: this enables good output volume on low-level devices such as laptops or telephones by activating the "loudness" mode (to activate this function, short-circuit the OP1 solder joint).
• Subwoofer signal output on solder pads: 85Hz cut-off frequency (cables for this application are not supplied).

This GLA module has an input impedance of 50KOhm with an input and output signal of 2.1Vrms (@ THD+N = 1%) for an operating voltage of between 12V and 15V DC.

Encodeur

This PCB integrates a potentiometer, 2 voltage regulators 78M09 and 78M05, and a STC15W204S microcontroller. Inputs and outputs include a stereo signal input on a 3-pin JST connector and its output counterpart, a subwoofer output on solder pads and a 2-pin JST power supply input.

Remote Control

A small infrared remote control allows you to control sound level and the “MUTE” function from a distance. Very practical, it eliminates the need to move around and systematically use the potentiometer to access the volume control.
