Allo Digione SIgnature - RP4 version
Prompt service and delivery. I am using my Allo DS with a ADI-2 DAC FS and a set of Meze Empyrean headphones. Very satisfied with the pairing and the sound quality of the Allo DS.
I have previously used a RP4 and purchased a separate DAC hat, downloading Volumio and installing it, which is easy enough. This is an important point as my Allo DS arrived well packaged, but with no instructions what so ever. If I had no prior RP4 experience, it would have been a bit of a struggle.

Un bon cable OFC bien construit, loin des simples 2 fils de base vendus au mètre mais à un tarif qui fait sens pour le budget de la plupart des ensembles HiFi.

Ce câble d'alimentation est superbe. Aussitôt branché sur l'alimentation linéaire régulée LPSU25 et relié à la carte Matrix element H on constate encore plus de fluidité et de transparence dans le son délivré par la liaison USB/DAC. Certes ce n'est pas le jour et la nuit, mais à force de peaufiner mon installation casque qui comprend un ampli casque Audio GD NFB 1 AMP 2019, un DAC SONCOZ SGD1 et un casque Focal Clear on constate l'importance de soigner les différentes connexions avec de bons câbles. Sans tomber dans la "folie" audiophiles force est de reconnaitre qu' AUDIOPHONICS propose de nombreuses possibilité de s'équiper avec du matériel offrant un très bon rapport qualité/prix permettant à de nombreux audiophiles de se faire plaisir sans ce mettre à mal avec son banquier.

J'utilise cette interface pour appliquer un signal d'horloge de précision (Mutec Ref-10) au signal audio au moment de sa conversion de signal asynchrone (USB) en signal synchrone (I2S).
Elle opère bien cette transformation et l'impact sur la qualité sonore est important et favorable.
L'isolation galvanique procurée me parait bonne.
Un détail à signaler: le flux PCM en provenant d'un renderer sous Linux est affecté d'une baisse de niveau significative. Ce n'est pas le cas avec un renderer sous Windows.

Le boitier est de construction correcte, sans rayure ou défaut esthétique gênant, mais le bouton d'allumage est d'un diamètre significativement plus petit que le trou de la façade, et l'interrupteur fourni a un peu de jeu latéral. la description du produit évoque un "bouton potentiomètre" : pour préciser, le bouton est fourni, le potentiomètre non. Le trou dans le bouton est de diamètre de 5,9mm avec une vis de serrage ; il ne sera pas possible d'y insérer un potentiomètre d'axe métallique de diamètre 6mm.
La visserie est adéquate pour fixer les connexions arrières et les facades . Le boîtier ne dispose pas de pieds.

I returned this, but still award 5 stars!
I have a Naim UnitiNova - it is a great product but I find the sound errs on the side of resonant and bass-y. When I had a listen to the Nad M33, I discovered how good the purifi modules were.

When I saw this S400ET unit on offer by Audiophonics, I was very tempted as I could use my Naim as a pre-amp.
This little power amp is a lovely size, the casing is understated and very appealing and the quality of construction looks high.
After sourcing the appropriate leads to connect my Naim, I put the Audiophonics unit through its paces. It was thrilling! I am now totally converted to class D amplification - the sound was strong and energetic and was notably better than the amp stage of my Naim.

However, the overall sound was still resonant and bass-y, like before, not the crystalline sound I had heard from the Nad. The problem, I guess, is probably that the Naim pre-amp is putting its coloration and sound signature into the Audiophonics unit.
I did not have any other pre-amps to connect to compare, and I do not have the budget to "take a chance" and buy another preamp - which would in fact put the overall cost close to buying the Nad unit itself.

So, with a (very heavy) heart, I have had to return the unit. It is stunningly good both in terms of its output and value for money and the present (January) wait of up to 4 weeks for one attests to its deserved popularity. Well done Audiophonics!

PS - I hope I have not broken any rules by mentioning other manufacturers in this review - please edit appropriately if I have!

Real advantage for a comparison. In absolute terms, the Amadeus 5 MK2 cable is a real buy-in whose audio performance is far from the price. For half a century of audiophilia (I'm 60 years old and yes I started young, the music academy educates your ear and not just your ear), you imagine that systems and cables sold at price of Gold, there are full crates, but sometimes, rarely, there is one that emerges and stands out from all the others.

06: OYAIDE M1e Pt-Pd (Platine-Palladium) (Item no .: 10387): Connectors mounted on a 3-meter "DOUBLERAMM" cable.

With the OYAIDE M1e connectors, we have more dynamics, but the quality of the timbres is slightly lower (compared to YARBO/Rhodium).
OYAIDE connectors have exceptional transients ("fast" cable), and exceptional instrument separation, unique in its genre. The spatialization is extraordinary, each instrument is in its place and it stays there ... A real soundstage in three dimensions !!! However, they have a slightly "bright" high-pitched (beyond eight Kilo-hertz) and barely less definition than YARBO/Rhodium (beyond eight Kilo-hertz).
The low register has exceptional definition, dynamics and depth.
The medium, the vocals, are unmatched in dynamics, clarity, clarity and transparency. The soundstage is incredible and unparalleled, the separation of the instruments is very impressive, perfect, in fact.
The M1e is undoubtedly the best connector of those tested for sub-bass tracks; bass tracks; medium up to +/- 8 KHz. It is however less usable in full-range, because of its slight degradation in listening quality in the treble of 6-8 KHz to the high end of the sound spectrum.
