Nanosound offers with its small module Pi Switch Cap a simple way to control the switching on and off of your Raspberry, without having to plug or unplug the power cable each time. Thus, the module integrates an On / Off button which, by simple pressure will switch on or off your Raspberry Pi. But better than that, the module integrates an IR LED, a remote control and a screen.  It is therefore possible to directly control your Raspberry remotely and view playback information (music playback, sampling rate and parameters). In addition, the remote control, specially designed for multimedia use for easy control of your device and playback of your files.

Installation is very simple since it is enough to connect the Pi Switch Cap to the Raspberry, without cable and without soldering or other tool, to be able to benefit from the functionalities of the module. Concerning the screen, 4 welding points will be enough to mount it on the Pi Switch Cap

Open Source

The Pi Switch Cap is based on an ATtiny85 microcontroller. This can be removed to be reprogrammed according to your needs. Source codes ATtiny Software and Shutdown Script being Open Source, they will allow you to modify them for example to use other remote controls.
