HYPEX SMPS180 Universal Cutting Power Supply

TheSMPS180is a high-efficiency universal switching power supply that meets the security class 2 . It is particularly suitable for use on the modules, digital amplification UcD ™ of the brand.
It is characterized mainly by its high efficiency over the entire load range, the universality of the input voltage range (85 - 264 V, 50 - 60 Hz), its very low weight and bulk, an electromagnetic interference level (EMI) by perfectly controlled radiation or conduction, all while managing to maintain a power factor close to unity.

In addition, the SMPS180overcurrent protection system particularly sophisticated, which acts by reducing the voltage in case of temporary overload. This mode of protection is deactivated only after a stabilization time sufficiently long to avoid any risk of recurrence. This feature, combined with a topology with counter reactiont a secondary section equipped with 2 high capacity capacitors each 63V / 4700uF, allow the SMPS180 to provide a very comfortable instantaneous power reserve to the amplifier to whichhe is connected.

The SMPS180 also includes an insulated auxiliary power supply of ± 12V and a control circuit to facilitate interfacing with the full range of HYPEX UcD ™ amplifier modules.

Finally, special care has been taken in the early stages of design of the SMPS180 to achieve an extremely low level of electromagnetic interference (EMI), a crucial point for Audio and Hi-Fi applications.
