The SMPS3K is a high efficiency switching power supply specifically designed for use with nCore and UcD amplifier modules. Its main features are high efficiency over the entire load range, low form factor, low weight and low EMI emission. The SMPS3K also features advanced overcurrent protection that limits the output current in the event of a temporary overload. If the overload persists, the power supply will go into "hiccup" mode until the overload is removed. This feature, combined with large electrolytic capacitors, provides high dynamic power to the connected amplifier. The SMPS3K also features a balanced auxiliary output and a control circuit that can interface directly with UcD / nCore amplifier modules.
