The switching power supply SMPS800RS is a very high efficiency model capable of developing a nominal power of 800 Watts in an extremely small footprint.

This power supply is capable of delivering 800W of continuous Audio power and up to 1000W peak.

The main characteristic of this power supply is the ratio between its compactness, its weight and the supplied power coupled with a very low EMI pollution comparable to the most efficient linear regulated power supplies.

Thus the compactness of the SMPS800RE allows the design of amplification in active speakers or even stereo or multichannel amplifiers .

The SMPS800RS incorporates overcurrent protection that limits the output current to approximately 125% of peak peak power, approximately 1000W.

This power supply is suitable for TA3020v3C and TA3020V3D class D amplifiers.

The auxiliary outputs are electrically isolated from the general mass of the board, allowing the voltage to be used in several ways depending on the chosen reference point.

Meaning of the terms R, RE, RS and RXE on SMPS power supplies:

QR, R : SINGLE or DUAL power supplies with classic LLC resonance filter for class A / B or D amplifiers, the SMPS R are characterized by their value-for-money ratio.

RE : SMPS power supplies with differential and multiple voltage resonant filter outputs featuring LLC filter with low noise EMI filter (with low ripple CLC filter) for high class A / B or D / T class amplifiers. Advantageously replaces conventional linear power supplies. (Generally suitable for amplifiers TA2022, TDA8920, TDA8950, IRS2092, ..)

RS : SMPS power supplies close to the RE but with "Single Rail Output" resonant filter with an LLC filter with low noise EMI filter (with low ripple CLC filter output) for high-end amplifiers in class A / B or D / T. Advantageously replaces conventional linear power supplies.

RXE : The high-end SMPS 600, 800W and 2000W featuring the latest generation LLC resonant filters (with low output ripple CLC filter) with high-end FET transistors. Especially recommended for class D high-end amplifiers (IRS2092, HYPEX, CXD). Can also be suitable for class A / B class amplifiers.




A switch or jumper must be connected to the relevant screw terminal for the module to operate.

Points positifs :
- L'alimentation semble capable de fournir la puissance annoncée sans que la tension de sortie ne s'éloigne de sa consigne.
- On notera un Vripple en sortie de 250mV à 620W continu (je n'ai pas les équipements pour la tester à plus de 600W continu).
- Il est important de souligner la présence de régulateurs linéaires et de fusibles pour réguler et protéger les tensions auxiliaires.
- Le rendement mesuré à 600W est de 88%, ce qui est un très bon point.

Points négatifs :
- Les condensateurs montés sur la carte ne sont pas identiques à ceux de l'illustration.
- On s'attend à des condensateurs de sortie CAPXON de 4700µF, mais celle que j'ai reçue présente des condensateurs de sortie NCC de 2200µF. La marque est donc de meilleure réputation, mais la valeur de capacité en sortie est donc plus de 2 fois moins élevé que l'image ne le prétend.
- Les condensateurs de lissage des tensions auxiliaires ont une tenue de 16v pour une tension auxiliaire mesurée à 15.2V, ce qui ne laisse qu'une faible marge de sécurité.
- Enfin, les condensateurs de lissage de la tension au primaire du pont LLC ne sont pas des NCC comme indiqués sur l'annonce, mais des SAMWEI de qualité plus douteuse, mais de plus grande capacité (330µF au lieu de 270µF).
- Très léger bruit de résonance du transformateur lorsque l'alimentation est sous tension sans charge en sortie, mais disparaît dès qu'une charge légère (80mA) est appliquée.
