In 1985, WBT designed the first one-piece machined connector with a progressive clamping device. Since then, the machining technique has been refined and the eight blades of the external contact are machined on high-precision machines using diamond drill bits. This patented design has the value of a symbol on the market.

Today, WBT is synonymous with perfection in audio connection and its reputation is well established. In 2003, NextGen technology was introduced, taking the conduction quality of WBT connectors even further. Today, this principle extends to the entire range.

The cable is fixed by means of a double clamping system using two copper Torx screws, ensuring excellent mechanical resistance for a reliable connection. These forks accept cables with a cross-section of up to 10mm² and a diameter of 7mm. These forks are fully insulated, in accordance with EN60065 and IEC65 standards.

The WBT patent uses an absorbent elastomeric material that is clamped inside the fork. It allows an extremely high contact pressure to be established during tightening, so that a continuous current of 100A can be accepted. In addition, it absorbs vibrations and thus eliminates the generation of magnetostriction noise. Finally, it guarantees perfect mechanical resistance over time.
