Kiwi Ears Quintet: Four speaker types, five speakers per earphone

With a total of five drivers per earphone, Kiwi Ears Quintet deliver sound of incredible definition and richness. A large 10mm DLC dynamic driver has been chosen to reproduce the bass because of its responsiveness and high tensile strength, ensuring punchy bass with a rapid decay rate. Two Balanced Armature Knowles drivers deliver natural, perfectly defined midrange. These drivers are completed by a planar magnetic transducer and a piezoelectric bone conductor.

Kiwi Ears Quintet: Micro planar magnetic (MPT) tweeter & PZT bone conductor

The Quintet also uses a micro planar transducer (MPT) that represents a new advance in the in-ear monitors industry. This new tweeter features a classic planar magnetic circuit, but is much more compact for use in hybrid designs. With extremely low background noise, these planar magnetic drivers deliver crisp, detailed high frequencies beyond what can be achieved with the Balanced Armature or electrostatic technologies used in most of today's in-ear monitors.

Finally, a piezoelectric bone conductor (PZT) is used to provide micro-detail and nice aeration in the highs. In tests, the presence of the PZT driver considerably improved perceived audio resolution, texture and soundstage, making it an obvious choice for the Quintet.

Kiwi Ears Cadenza: Natural, balanced sound

Achieving a balanced tonal signature was at the heart of the Kiwi Ears Quintet design. These IEMs deliver powerful bass with a 9dB slope, a smooth transition to linear midrange at 300Hz and a perfectly tuned treble peak at 3kHz. The result is a balanced sound that accurately reflects the qualities of each driver.
