All in One Audiophile System ESS DAC Bluetooth 5.0 aptX LDAC HWA WiFi
The Aurora iFi Audio is a true compendium of technology and features. An all-in-one HiFi audio system, the device integrates preamplification, amplification, conversion stage, speakers and a particularly complete set of connectors. Taking advantage of technologies developed by iFi Audio, the Aurora is capable of delivering a sound of great richness and precision. It also boasts a modern and elegant design, which is a real decorative element.
The Aurora was designed by French designer Julien Haziza, taking his inspiration from Japanese industrial designers and architects Shigeru Ban and Tadao Ando as well as the Omotesandō and Harajuku neighborhoods in Tokyo.
The exterior of the Aurora is thus made of bamboo slats, the whole being raised by a geometric aluminium structure. Aesthetic and practical, this particular design is part of the Aurora's identity.
Many audio devices use digital audio processing via DSP to provide richer and more realistic sound reproduction. While this can be effective, it can also be degrading to the original audio signal.
Thus, the Aurora acts only at the analog stage to avoid these inconveniences. SoundSpace technology provides dense sound and a beautiful sound image, where the TrueBass system adds depth by providing low-frequency adjustment.
Auto Room Tailoring (ART) technology automatically configures and adjusts the Aurora's speaker performance based on its placement in your listening room. This acoustic correction reveals a rich sound reproduction and a vast sound stage, whatever your listening environment.
Powered by ART technology, the Aurora adapts to your use and your desires. It can also be used as a sound bar under a television, connected by Bluetooth or cable, or as a multiroom system, connecting several Auroras together via WiFi. Many possibilities are available to you thanks to the various features offered by iFi Audio.
The Aurora incorporates a Qualcomm 5100 latest-generation Bluetooth 5.0 chip, directly associated with the DAC ESS Sabre. This chip supports the aptX, LDAC and HWA codecs for high-quality remote transmission.
In addition to its wireless connectivity capabilities, the Aurora also offers complete connectivity to suit your needs: Optical, Coaxial, USB-A and Ethernet inputs for digital sources and stereo RCA and 3.5mm jack inputs for analog sources or use with the Alexa Assistant. A Micro SD slot is also present.
PureEmotion is iFi Audio's proprietary amplification technology. It is a hybrid circuit consisting of several stages.
The first is the preamplification stage, using a 6N3P tube (visible through a window next to the OLED display). This one recovers the audio signal converted by the ESS DAC by adding gain, before sending it to another amplification stage.
A 6N3P tube is used for the preamplification stage of the Aurora. The use of this type of preamplification allows for a warmer, livelier sound without cutting out details.
SoundSpace technology adapts the output level of each speaker to certain frequencies. This results in a larger sound stage and a more realistic rendering.
The TrueBass system incorporates two 8" passive radiators to deliver deep, realistic bass. A two-step control adjusts the low-frequency response to reach 27Hz.
The Aurora uses a Qualcomm 5100 Bluetooth 5.0 chip, which is particularly suitable for audio and supports codecs such as aptX, LDAC or HWA, ensuring high audio quality during Bluetooth transmission.
The Aurora's digital/analog conversion stage uses a DAC ESS Sabre HyperStream chip equipped with Time Domain Jitter Eliminator technology and a discrete oscillator to provide accurate, rich sound reproduction and a wide dynamic range of 112dB.
The AMR GMT (Global Master Timing) memory buffer technology is an effective solution to reduce SPDIF jitter.
The ART (Automatic Room Tailoring) technology is an acoustic correction system for the home. 6 sensors measure the distance of the Aurora from the surrounding walls using ultrasound. A 32bit ARM Cortex processor then adjusts the audio output to provide the best sound performance.
All adjustments are made at the analog level, without the use of DSP. This feature provides a wide sound stage for enhanced immersion.
With its integrated LinkPlay™ WiFi module, Spotify and Tidal integration and support for 32bit 192kHz audio streams, the Aurora can be used simply from a connected device such as a smartphone.
