MATRIX MS-1 PRE Streamer Preamplifier

The Matrix MS-1 PRE audio network player is an extremely complete streamer that forms part of the brand's M series along with the MP-1 preamplifier and MA-1 power amplifier. This new series features a new design, both in terms of appearance and internal structure. Indeed, the MS-1 PRE network player features a balanced structure with a combo of AKM AK4499EX + AK4191 chips per channel, enabling it to support high-resolution PCM up to 24bit 768kHz, native DSD up to DSD512 and MQA streams. This version of the streamer also features preamplified outputs with volume control. An attractive display with touch-sensitive controls and the MA Player solution, coupled with the MA Remote App 4.0, provide a pleasant user experience. Numerous digital inputs (USB-B, Toslink optical, SPDIF coaxial, USB-A storage, SSD slot) and analog inputs (XLR balanced, RCA and phono) enable the Streamer MS-1 PRE to be integrated into any audio system configuration. There's also an I2S LVDS input and output on HDMI port, a 10MHz clock connector and a trigger input and output. As for line outputs, the essentials are there, with stereo RCA and stereo balanced XLR. MATRIX MS-1 preamplifier version: the MS-1 PRE

The MS-1 PRE features an integrated preamplifier with resistor array volume control. This preamplifier is itself the result of the sum of numerous audiophile components, such as multi-stage operational amplifiers offering +10dB gain and enabling the MS-1 PRE to output a signal of up to 16Vrms. This makes it possible to connect the MS-1 PRE directly to a power amplifier or active speakers. In terms of technical performance, the MS-1 PRE's integrated preamplifier matches the performance of the network player. In fact, it offers a very low level of distortion with excellent channel coherence, even at low volume levels. In addition to preamplified RCA and XLR outputs, the MS-1 PRE also features a fixed XLR output (5Vrms).

Matrix MS-1 PRE: MA Remote App 4.0

To complete the MS-1 PRE interface, Matrix Audio gives you access to its MA Remote App 4.0. This app lets you control your streamer remotely, whether from your Android or IOS smartphone. This app also gives you access to numerous streaming services, as well as to the configuration of your Hi-Fi device.

Matrix MS-1 PRE: a multitude of sources and digital inputs

The MS-1 PRE streamer gives you access to a multitude of audio sources. These include numerous local network streaming services such as Airplay 2, UPnP, DLNA, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, as well as high-resolution online streaming services such as HighRES AUDIO, Tidal and Quobuz. Of course, you can also take advantage of the many existing online radio stations (Radio Paradise, VTuner, etc.) and your locally stored files on SSD, USB-Disk and local NAS.

On the rear of the MS-1 PRE, numerous digital inputs allow you to connect it to any type of source, such as a CD player, video game console, TV and, of course, your computer, tablet and smartphone.
