Rose's RS520 is an all-in-one network player, DAC and amplifier, all dressed up in the brand's sublime design. Just plug in your speakers and you'll have a complete and powerful audio system.
For the digital/analog conversion section, the RS520 adopts an ES9038Pro DAC used in the most high-end models of the brand. The Class AD amplifier stage embeds the brand new GaN FETs.
Design
The RS520 design focuses on unchanged values. Refined aesthetics and durable design, with extensive venting for optimal heat dissipation. The perfect combination of functionality and good looks.
Aluminum frame
The RS520's chassis is constructed from extremely strong Class 6000 aluminum via a process that allows all four sides of the case to be made into a single element. This method is ideal for allowing the chassis to block vibrations that may occur between separate components.
Large 12.6" LCD touch screen
With its large 12.6" LCD touch screen and 1920*515 pixel resolution, the RS520 is a must have. It allows an intuitive navigation thanks to an ergonomic interface and offers a quality display to enjoy the artworks or clips of your favorite albums and songs.
ES9038Pro DAC
Equipped with ESS Technology's flagship ES9038Pro DAC chip, the RS520's digital to analog conversion stage achieves a very low THD+N level with a measurement at -122dB, as well as a dynamic range of 140dB. This DAC also allows the playback of high resolution audio streams, supporting PCM up to 32bit 768kHz and Native DSD up to DSD512. In addition, it features the exclusive ESS jitter suppression technology for incredible sound clarity.
Discrete OPAs
The discrete OPAs developed by Rose are used in the IV circuitry essential to the DAC. The brand focuses here on a high-gain open loop to achieve low distortion and low noise. In addition, this OPA model has a wide bandwidth and power supply range, essential for high-quality analog amplification, adding a nice depth to the sound.
Active PFC
The main reason to use power factor correction (PFC) is to improve efficiency. By adopting an active PFC method, the power saving can reach 95% efficiency. In addition, it allows for a wider power supply voltage range, from 80V to 265V AC while limiting noise.
Class AD Amplifier
The Class AD amplifier mounted on the TS520 uses a new type of GaN (gallium nitride) FET which drastically reduces the dead time by one third and thus maximizes linearity. Moreover, with a power of 250W per channel, this amplifier will fit in many audio systems.
Equalizer
The RS520 provides a parametric equalizer to adjust the level of specific frequency bands. Each frequency band can be adjusted over a gain range of ±10dB. Predefined equalization profiles are also available.
