Yamaha unveils with its WXC-50 an extremely complete network player, based on the brand's MusicCast system. The WXC-50 is a comprehensive network player based on Yamaha's MusicCast system, with extensive connectivity to a wide range of audio content, whether it's stored locally, on your smartphone, NAS or from a streaming service. The streamer thus combines features and performance to open your HiFi installation to the joys of remote playback.
MusicCast is based on a powerful network module, capable of delivering your audio content quickly, securely and with ease. Stream your music from your smartphone, PC or NAS to all your MusicCast-enabled devices, or take advantage of the many physical inputs and outputs on your device. Your audio content available on your Bluetooth devices can also be shared simultaneously in multiple rooms in a true multi-room system.
The WXC-50 is compatible with a wide range of music sources and streaming services. You can connect your CD player, your computer, a USB storage device, enjoy your music stored on your local network or access your favorite streaming services such as Spotify, Qobuz, Deezer or Tidal.
With the WXC-50, your smartphone becomes a true audio source, thanks to the device's compatibility with Bluetooth, AirPlay and DLNA transmission protocols. It's easy to stream your music from your audio applications, radios, or audio and video services.
Use your smartphone with the dedicated MusicCast Controller app to easily access your device settings. It also works as a real remote control for all your MusicCast devices, allowing you to act directly on the playback of your music.
The WXC-50 has been designed for intuitive operation. Simply press any button on the unit to turn it on and start playback from the last used source. Indicator lights clearly display the system status and the active source.
Comes with a handy remote to control your device remotely, it has 6 adjustable buttons to quickly access your favorite sources and music as you wish.
The WXC-50's sleek, modern design allows for seamless integration into your existing audio system. With its sturdy metal chassis and high quality finish, Yamaha's quality is as apparent on the outside as it is on the inside. With a width of only 214mm, the WXC-50 fits easily into a HiFi or TV cabinet. It can even be positioned vertically.
Thanks to Yamaha's audio processing technology in the WXC-50, you can enjoy rich and accurate sound reproduction from any source. For owners of high-end HiFi equipment, the network player features a Direct Mode for listening to high-resolution sources in their original quality.
The WXC-50 takes advantage of an exclusive power supply called DAC on Pure Ground, which works perfectly with high-end preamplifiers to eliminate the deterioration in audio quality that can be caused by a power supply. It also features a highly accurate 48bit volume controller and ensures extremely low jitter.
The WXC-50 supports many high-resolution audio formats, including DSD128, FLAC, WAV, and AIFF files up to PCM 24bit 192kHz and ALAC up to 24bit 96kHz for iTunes. So whether you have files purchased as downloads or a subscription to a streaming service, you can enjoy all the benefits of a high-resolution source, without compromise.
If you want to take advantage of the volume control of your HiFi amplifier, then the WXC-50 allows you to simply turn off the PRE AMP mode and use it only as a network audio player. Switch to Player Mode to bypass volume and processing for direct playback of high-resolution sources.
The WXC-50 consumes less than 2W in standby. When it is in operation, its consumption is only 5W. In addition, the automatic shutdown of the device after 2, 4, 8 or 12 hours, allows to save energy simply.
With a width of only 214mm and a height of 42mm, the WXC-50 fits easily into a 1U rack for an optimized installation of all your devices.
