Many audiophiles are impressed by the qualities of ribbon tweeters for their clarity, transparency and the quality of the sound imgae. The key to their performance is the tape, which is almost weightless.
It consists of a Kapton film and aluminium conductors, which are placed between two rows of magnets. The result is an immediate and precise response to any transient in the original signal and the ability to deliver detailed music.
The Dayton Audio PT2C-8 features a large diaphragm, providing greater power. The membrane is thermally attached to an aluminum plate, dramatically increasing the dynamic range.
The flared waveguide produces a horizontal dispersion which allows an excellent off-axis response. It also limits vertical dispersion and reduces floor and ceiling reflections.
Perfect for Line Array. A second order filter is recommended with a cutoff frequency of 3 kHz or higher.
The frequency can be lowered to 2500Hz with a third order filter.
