A remarkable cable and a true bargain
I totally agree with Anders L. review. I do a lot of DIY staff and I gave this cable a try, due to its large cross-section, silver plating and PTFE insulation. I have used it to make speaker and power cables and although I was already familiar with the sound quality of this kind of cable at smaller cross sections, I was totally blown away with this one. After all, the size of the cross section DOES matter. I dare to say that both power and speaker cables I made with it, are very close to the sonic signature of mid-priced Nordost cables, without their complexity and at a very small fraction of their cost. Speed, micro and macro-dynamics, transparency, spatial information, frequency extension in both ends, smoothness, rich timbre and very extended but also very clean and accurate bass. Beware though, as always when PTFE is present, the brake-in period is very long. Do not judge it in the first few hours of listening. It needs at least 20 hours to just start to open-up, especially in the bass section. And it will continue for the next 200-300 hours. So be patient and you will be richly rewarded. I hope that Audiophonics will keep this cable in their catalogue for a very long time.

Transparent sound
I used this wire to make a quad cable for bi-wiring speakers. The result is very good. To my ears this wire carries a highly detailed and transparent sound. Unsurprisingly, the mids and highs are very clear and detailed. I even used them for the low-pass connectors, as electrical symmetry is important in my experience. The bass is very detailed and true to the recording. If the recording has high bass levels, so does the speaker with this cable. (I needed to play the system with this new cable for about a week for the sound to settle in.)

My preferred speaker cable used to be unplated single core copper, for the transparency and transient delivery. The only draw-back with that is a roll-off in the high frequency band. This Audiophonics cable is the first thing I've found that has the same transparency and attack but with better frequency extension.

The strengths of this cable is particularly evident when playing recordings of instruments with a great range, such as piano or cello. All the notes have a similar sound signature in terms of resulution and sound presssure. This provides a very stable spatial reproduction.

I will definitely be making more speaker cables from this wire.
