A little quirk with FI-06 you may want to pay special attention to.
I would advice to do a "dry run" wire assembly prior to final installation.
You have to make sure that the resistance you're feeling under the screwdriver is from thightening the wire and not from reaching the end of the tread.
Out from the box, FI-06 probably works well with wires in 6mm² - 8mm² range and up.
You need a certain minimum volume of wire in order to tightly secure it with the screws.
FI-06 will not hold 2,5mm² or 4mm² well, as the screws do not reach the bottom of the opening, ( not to mention cutting through the strands of the wire... horror... )
I found a solution to it, which may actually give a much more expensive FI-09 a run for the money and gives FI-06 ( and possibly many other connectors and plugs ) a terrific advantage.
Use a short piece of 2,5mm² solid core regular electric wire ( in case of FI-06 it has to be this exact gauge 2,5mm² )
Remove the insulation, bend the wire in the middle and form a tight long U shape.
with the plyers squeeze the two legs toghether so they run parallel to each other and touch each other as well.
This now becomes a pressure plate that fits quite nicely between the screw and the wire to be installed.
You may want to trim it to the total length of 10mm -11mmm.
It prevents the screw from cutting the strands of your wire and also the strands from going up, to the sides of the screw.
Works like a charm.
Can't really speak of sonic merits of FI-06 as I'm upgrading simultaneously several elements in the same time and pinpinting IEC connector becomes impossible,
however given my past good experience with Furutech products, also based on the description ( alpha treated pure copper ) and now with the screw problem solved, I would be very very surprised if this connector did not perform as expected. Very solid and precise built. Possibly worth every penny.
